    6” Pro Comp Lift 35” Extreme MT2 (Pro Comp) Tires
    Hey everyone,

    My local 4WD Parts place is recommending a Pro Comp lift kit for my 2018 Tundra. I was hoping to get some feedback from you guys that have experience with Pro Comp. Pros & Cons?

    3”, 6”, or I think they have a 7” now for 37” tires.
    Stage 1 or 2?

    What kind of off-roading are you going to do or just for looks?

    Lots of people on here run everything other then bracket lifts. But there are still some of us using pro comp or other bracket lifts. I have had no issues with this pro comp however I did experience the death wobble on my F250 but to be fair nobody ever figured out why.

    What size tires you going to run? Unless you pick the exact rim/tire combo they recommend plan on getting a cab mount chop done. It sounds way worse then it is. You just have someone cut out part of the body mount in the back of the wheel and weld in a new plate. Relentless Fab on here sells them and they are awesome. Plates and labor maybe $200. This will fix any rub issues you have in a full lock turn.

    Do you plan on re-gearing?

    It’s a 4” lift (professionally installed), running 35’s. I have snow about 4 months a year and love to get muddy but I’m not what you would consider a “professional or aggressive” wheeler. Maybe later but my truck is brand new so not yet...

    I have the 6” stage 1 with spacers. Most people will tell you spacers are bad and they are not necessarily wrong. If you were out on trails all the time I would not run a spacer. I go out to the dunes but am smart about what I do knowing what can happen if you get to crazy. The most common failure is breaking the bottom shock mount from the preload on the shock plus any extra forces you would apply by going over obstacles. The spacer is what goes on top of the shock in their stage 1 kit(at least with the 6”). If you are not that aggressive then a stage 1 could work just fine. If I want to upgrade to extended coil overs like from Icon to get rid of my spacer it’s going to run another $1,400. So just plan accordingly and you will be ok.

    Everyone will have a different opinion, here is mine.

    35s with 3" lift will have better ground clearance than a 6" on 35s.

    Now you mentioned a pro comp 4" lift, quick look online shows what looks to possibly be a new cross member. If there is no cross member and ita just cheap spacers....boy oh boy thats a different story...

    Regardling new cross member: Do you want to hack up the trucks frame? Its going to take good amount of $ to come back from that.

    IMO - get a solid 3" lift with proper offset wheels and run 35s. Thats just me though .

    If you are 2wd, then get a spindle "lift" and call it a day!

    Currently letting mine warm up.
    28,617 miles and not a single issue either.

    The 4” kit is no cut. My truck had a 6” stage one. I took that off and now run a 3-1 lift on 35’s. I wheel it often and am upgrading to coil overs and upper arms soon

    Just got my 3 inch Procomp kit installed today with a add a leaf in the back. Basically a 3/2 lift. Put 285/65/20’s on and got some rubbing though. Have to trim front piece. Do you guys trim the back piece or just pushing that part in that sticks out and rubs on the tire? Only rubs a little at full lock

    i have a 3/1 pro comp kit on my 14 CM 2wd with 295/70/18's and love it. Got it done around 6k miles ago and have zero complaints. I'm always impressed with how the truck drives especially on the freeway, drives like a Cadillac.

    Are you talking about the mud flaps or the cab mount? I always take the bolts and screws out the front plastic piece cut then shove it all the way forward then put the screws back in

    Nothing wrong with those kits. I work for 4WP and sell quite a bit of the 3/1 nitro, 4in member and 6in member kits. They're great for fitting larger wheel and tires and going for a certain look. Good shocks can make them ride better along with a quality tire. Just understand the limitations of that style of suspension before you pull the trigger on it.

    Yeah I was going to go 5100’s all around with the leaf. But was limited on tire size and the BFG 60’s are $50 more per tire than the 65’s. So I would’ve spent more money for a lower truck with smaller tires. I picked higher, bigger and less expensive for now.

    Lots of good info guys, thanks! I must admit that the more pictures I see of your Tundras, the more I wonder if the 4” lift will be the look I really want. Seems like the 6” lift might be better.

    6in Tundras look very nice but they look better with 37's vs 35's on a set of 20x10's.

    Personally if I were gonna go 6in I'd fit some 38's on it! BLAOW!!!:sawzall:

    I thought there was a 4wp guy on here... can you refresh my memory will the stage 2 coil overs bolt up to a stage 1 on the 6”? I can’t remember. I know king and Icon make bolt on options.
