I know it's a shot in the dark, but had anyone come across anything reliable on pricing yet? I've read to expect it to be few thousand over last year's models... Curious what others may have found

If Toyota would only make a budget version. Roll-Up windows vinyl or tuff liner floors, blue tooth only radio, analog gauges, usb-c charger and that’s it. I say this because we all want to modify anyway. Who really uses all the gimmicks when most use their cell phones for navigation and connected radio. I would even take vinyl seats. Any new vehicle anyone would want is well over $40k. I get some like to ride in style but vehicles are the worst investment known to man unless it’s purely for work which is like 10%. $30k would be reasonable for an A to B mode of transportation. I guess I am one of the few with paid off vehicles 12’ Tundra and a 14’ Cayenne Diesel bought used for nothing during the diesel scandal but I do have a $1,000,000 home. Financing something for longer doesn’t make it a good deal! I see people in Houston driving $75k Escalades but live in a $50k home. Those are the one’s that never have parties at their house! All show and no go yet they complain about their situation. Hope none of y’all live that way. Much love if you do because it’s different strokes for different folks.

And you think this is what everyone wants anyway huh?
Because all we want to do is modify of course?

I do use mine for work and have no interest in modding anything really but for sure would like to have a cheap entry level truck but Toyota has determined already that they just can not sell enough of those to keep doing so and so have stopped even trying.
Not too sure how Bluetooth or USB-C figure into any work truck at all anyway.

I’ve been waiting for pricing and trying to estimate based on last years models but even that’s tricky because of the market right now. I have money saved for a trd pro but I might just finance and use my savings for house projects if I can. I live on VA disability so I don’t want to get myself in trouble if the economy decides disabled vets don’t need money all the sudden. I just want to be able to estimate what payment I should expect and decide what fringes I need and can live without if necessary.

I don’t think it’s what everyone wants as much as I think it’s all anyone needs. That question highlights the problem but it’s a fair one nonetheless. Bluetooth yes, to listen something other than commercials and USB-C yes to us as a charger. Do you own a phone?

I think the highest end meaning platinum/1794 crewmax with long bed, air suspension and hybrid is gonna be around $65k USD. I think pricing any higher than that will put it out of the market for a lot of people who currently own the same trim. plus they've basically had the same truck for 14 years so... just my 2 cents.

Sure do and have not much need for either,I do use BT if its there but am OK without it too.
    USB-C still a mystery though?

    And believe me I understand.

Would that potentially put the TRD Pro around $60k?

Well I do like my 40k truck that is now worth 46k I guess that bad investment advice doesn’t always hold true. Also I really like getting from point A to B without my ass sticking to a vinyl seat.

Someone with a million dollar home, complaining about people wanting features above crank windows and vinyl seats? This place has gone off the deep end I think.

I think it will be about the same price as the platinum/1794 like it is now. This is just me completely guessing on a price of 65k but I think 60-65 is a good price point for the highest end trims of this truck. They don’t sell like the big 3 and they aren’t gonna want to overprice it and lose current customers due to pricing them out of their market or forcing them to get a lower trim option. I feel like the price hike of 5-10k over current for high end trims makes the most sense, I mean I’d love to see them keep their current pricing with maybe a 1-2k jump but that’s just wishful thinking.

Why am I flashing back to poopdawg, the illustrious principal engineer who did not do his home work? Must be some sort of delayed forum based PTSD I am suffering from?

I wanna a stripped down low priced Tundra, but hey I have a 1MM $ home. Ummm, OK, so what?

Yikes. I may be dreaming too high then. Maybe I’ll end up with the mid- tier instead so I can stay closer to the current model pricing.

Crazy to think when they do decide to give out pricing that you could build a brand new SR5 Crew Cab for around 50k. Reason I say this is because I see 3 year old SR5 Crew Cabs with 30k miles listed for 50k every where around where I live. I think with all the constraints of the current market it’s going to by near impossible to walk up to a dealer and buy one of these until at least this summer.

Yep. I have a platinum now so I’m hoping if I want to upgrade To the new gen at some point that I won’t be paying a bunch more than what I paid for this one, but I also figure that by that time and having this one is paid off I’ll have a nice amount of trade in value to significantly lower the price of the new one.

I get your point - you desire something bare bones because you prioritize value and solvency over bells and whistles. There is nothing wrong with that and actually something that the populace in general should add more into their lives rather than blowing money that they don't have. I will go out on a limb and say that your username reflects this mindset. However, as a car company in this day and age, you would have to think of what fleets (the ones typically buying the base, base models) would want, and anecdotally, I would imagine that even fleets would want power windows and doors. So what would their ROI be in this case? Would they build separate parts (hand cranks, for example) and adjust their process for a model that may not sell enough to justify the costs involved, or simply outfit it to "this day and age's" basic requirements and save themselves the hassle and possibly money. Running my own business, I'll speak for myself in that where I can find an efficiency, I adopt and implement it.

Save yourself the stress: just worry about how you handle your money and not how others spend theirs. Vehicle purchases are emotional decisions that we try to back up with logic...and I will certainly include myself in that statement lol. That said, I am fortunate enough where I am actively looking for ways to save taxes in my business, so buying a business truck with bells and whistles can certainly help with that :)

I think everyone is going to be surprised a the low entry price for the SR model. I think Toyota intentionally lowered the hp, torque, towing, etc. to lower the price. With the 2022 models the SR is really going to become a lower price, lower capability, entry level truck. Be careful what you wish for! For me, I need 10K+ towing so I have to start with the SR5 and add the options I need like 4x4. My main use is to pull a flatbed trailer of small square hay bales out of a hilly east Tennessee field. So I am in the market for the most reliable, cheapest new pickup that will do what I need it to do. I hope Toyota under cuts the F150 on price. To get an F150 extended cab that can legally tow 10K you have to spend a minimum of $43-45K and custom order it with lots of options that increase the towing capability and price. I plan to avoid any option that lowers the payload or towing. I am hoping for 1885 payload and 11,300 towing.
