I really thought I'd keep this truck for life, but I'm going to list it for sale in January. I love everything about this thing and the upgrades show that. The problem is that it just doesn't fit my lifestyle. I do too much city driving so I need something easier to park.

I have a number in mind but would like to hear from you on how much you think I can sell it for. Details:

    2021 Tundra Limited DC
    45,5xx miles

    OEM upgrades:
    - Bed liner
    - Tonneau cover
    - Side step
    - TRD Pro grill, headlights, and shift knob

    Audio upgrades:
    - Kenwood DMX1057XR head unit (HDMI port in center console)
    - Kenwood Excelon 5-channel amp
    - 2x Phoenix Gold subs
    - Hertz component speakers in front
    - Hertz 3-way speakers in rear
    - Audiofrog GS25 speakers in dash corners and center

    Wheels, Tires, Suspension
    - BDS 4.5" lift with Fox shocks
    - Fuel Rebel 20x10 wheels
    - Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.5
    - 35" spare (modified location to fit)

    Miscellaneous stuff
    - Painted, color matched grill surround, mirror caps, and front bumper ends
    - Meso customs center console blackout kit
    - Black badges
    - HiRev tail lights and LED 3rd brake light
    - VLEDS Interior LED lights

This truck has lived an easy life. Closest to off-roading it has ever been is a handful of days in the snow.

Anyway, what do you guys think is a good price point?

    TIA

Average price around here in MN is between $38,000-45,000.

Curious how y'all are pricing this? IMO, mods don't increase value because they can be causes for problems. Therefore, are the prices above from Petro and 2mch ignoring mods?

Also, you haven't mentioned a thing about how it has been maintained. What is the maintenance history? Particularly, oil changes, transmission fluid and other fluid changes since new. That honestly will matter most to me vs lifts and fancy radios.

I think it depends on the mods.

I have all the service records from Toyota...all scheduled maintenance performed at the same dealership where I bought it. For reference, they offered me $41K in trade.

No disrespect man but I'm not really trying to convince you of anything unless you're interested in buying my truck, which it doesn't sound like you are.

Pricing based on what I think someone would be willing to pay. Will everybody like it? No, but all people are different. If dealer is willing to do 41 trade, I bet they are close to my ballpark for resale as well.

Pretty much ignored mods in my post and gave general pricing by dealers in my area for that year.

O NO, the contrary, I am very much interested and allow me to put the crack pipe down :) So yes let's talk numbers? I have cash in hand now. I am interested in replacing my 2013 with a better specimen. So let's see the $41K offer or bluff? No disrespect, is just good business.

Is this allowed, posts like these? I believe I have seen moderator or someone else mention price checking not allowed.

Besides, using carvana or kbb or some other car selling website will give you better idea what people would be willing to pay.

I didn't get a written offer because I was in for service and the sales manager just came and talked with me. Not interested in trading to them because my next car won't be a Toyota. Anyhow, here's the market report on my car which references my service history

Go punch it into KBB or Carvana. That will give you about the idea of what you can get.

Modifications do not add value. If you want any money back from the mods, put the truck back to stock and sell mods separately. Customizations on vehicles are personal and if it's not what the buyer wants then it's not adding any value, so the general rule is to ignore the mods when considering value.

They are also not taken into account because those mods come at a certain degree of risk to the buyer. They are gambling that things were correctly installed, wired, calibrated, etc. and there is no guarantee of that.

TLDR - Mods don't add value. It's worth slightly less than a stock tundra with similar mileage because bigger tires mean your mileage is higher than your dash says it is.

Thank you! I mostly agree with you, especially the part about modifications being personal; for all I know most people hate everything I've done to the truck. That said, to the right buyer who can appreciate and inspect the work they do add value. But to your point, I don't expect to get all of my mods money back...a little would be nice though.
    Thanks again!

I'm just saying you have to manage expectations/hopes. It's true, that for that slim niche audience of buyers they add value. Trouble is getting to those potential buyers. If you are willing to sit on it for months to see if you find those buyers, then you can add something for the mods. If you are looking to sell it in a reasonable timeframe then you need to be ready to take lower numbers.

Especially if that BDS lift is a bracket lift that chopped the frame or if you had to do the cab mount chop to fit the tires. Some states won't even insure a vehicle with a modified frame.

Yeah I got a gut check. My KBB is 35k high side. Dealer said 25 before settling at 30.

I could try to put it on the market for 40k with my diamond back, but I've already come to grips that my roughly 15k in mods and brand new tires won't mean anything to anyone but me.

These are semi sought after if you can wait and keep it listed.

    I'm in VA also.

No hacksaw on the lift; fully reversible. I made sure of that because I didn't know if I'd like driving a lifted truck to begin with. Again. Good points, and I think I'm grounded in my expectations, but it definitely won't be a fire sale. I'm factory ordering my next car and it could be a couple of months before it arrives. I won't hate driving this truck a bit longer.

Bluebook value is going to be your starting point. Tack on what you hope for in mods, and see what happens. Worst case it sits long enough for you to start dropping the price, and you might get lucky and have somebody that want's to pay more for the mods. All it will cost you is time and potential buyers.

How does one get 4.5" BDS lift without a drop bracket? Have any photos of the front end suspension and differential housing?
