I just bought a 2018 Platinum. I have discovered it doesn't have the PCS. I guess this is an option?? You would think this would be standard especially on a Platinum. Any help?? Thanks for the add to this forum!!

Pre collision/Toyota Safety Sense is standard on 2018+ Tundras. Are you sure it’s a 2018?

I have a 2018 Platinum and it has pre-colision, BSM, RCTA, adaptive cruise, and lane departure.

Then pics of the truck would help, or more info on why you think it doesn’t have PCS.

How do y'all go to turn it on and on? Manual says to meter settings to cut on and off. It's just not there on mine. Nothing happens when I get close to something

I didn't think mine had it until it started screaming at me when an idiot stopped in front of me one night when I was checking my mirrors for a lane change. Saved the truck and my insurance premiums for sure.

I don't think mine gives any options to turn it on or off.

Copy and pasted from a Toyota site:

Standard Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P) System
For those of you who haven’t heard yet, the 2018 Toyota Tundra now has standard Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P) across the entire trim level lineup. This system includes a number of driver-assistive safety technologies that work in tandem to keep you feeling safe and secure while out on the road. The TSS-P includes the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function, Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Automatic High Beams. TSS-P uses millimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera sensor designed to help detect a preceding pedestrian or a preceding vehicle in the surrounding area. Once a pedestrian or vehicle are detected in front of the vehicle, TSS-P can automatically apply braking if necessary to help mitigate or avoid collisions in certain conditions.

I hope I have it, but I don't think I do. I hope I'm missing something. In the manual it shows going to meter settings so you can cut on n and off. It shows a pic of the screen. It shows right above the trailer settings. Mine does not show it.

Easiest way to see if you have it is to turn on the radar cruise. You’ll see “radar ready” or something along those lines. If it’s not working, you have an issue with your vehicle and should probably have it looked at by the dealer.

If you have any 18 or newer tundra, you have the PCS system. It’s not an option. It’s standard across the board. What makes you believe you don’t have it?

Second what @Kanobi13 said. Take a picture of the front of the truck and post it.

Check the VIN on the cowl. If 10th digit is J, you have 2018 and all came standard with PCS. Can’t always trust the door sticker.

Look behind the Toyota emblem on the grill. is there a sensor there? It’s not hard to find out. You can look for that, you can look in the settings to turn it on and off. Unless the previous owner took it off. My 2018 platinum was bought back as a lemon because of that stupid ass system.

Could’ve been. If he lifted it and didn’t wanna deal with the issues or if he was having issues so he deactivated it. But there still should be something in the settings that’s grayed out. When I had issues with mine malfunctioning it was still in the settings. I just couldn’t adjust anything. It would say PCS unavailable when I went into it.

Actually now that I’m thinking about it. When I had some malfunctions it was not in the settings anymore. But they should not have sold you a 2018 with a malfunctioning safety system.

If your PCS was deactivated, the light for PCS on the dash would be lit up 24/7. If there is no PCS on your dash to select, and there is no sensor behind the emblem, and a camera on the top of the windshield, sounds like you got taken for, because it’s not a 2018 truck.

You hold down your cruise button to turn it on and off.

Thanks for the help. There is something behind the emblem, it's a 2018,I bought it used from a non Toyota dealership. I checked service records with Toyota to see if it had been serviced by a Toyota dealer and fortunately it had been since it was new. There was nothing in the service records about PCS. They did have to replace cats because they were stolen. I'm going to my Toyota dealer tomorrow to check this out. They did the software fix for the trailer brake issue last week. Again thanks for the info from everyone. I tried to figure out how to post pics but I can't seem to do it yet. Any help would be much appreciated!!

But, what makes you think it’s not there. It’s an automatically defaulted on system. So you won’t see any lights or indicators on the dash unless you physically turn it off or there is a malfunction.

Danman34, there is nowhere to cut it on or off like you're supposed to be able to do in vehicle settings.
