Just want to see if anyone has powder coated their front springs before I want to mine but have heard good and bad . here in indiana they use salt on the roads not sure how they will hold up to that and will the powder coat chip ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can attest that powder coat does in fact chip if it receives direct impact.

Thanks I am also concerned abput the flex of the suspension its self but my truck is defiantly a pavement princes never been off road. Maybe just paint or just leave them black .

I wonder that as well. But you gotta think, if shocks are painted from factory and don’t crack, then mabye it’s kinda flexible??

Or what about offshore boats with coated towers? Those see a lot of impact too.

Also I think also of brodozer builds have powdercoated springs. Leaf and coils.

    I think you’d be good.

I had my fox coil overs sand blasted and then powder coated. They have been done now for two years. Powder coat is typically more durable than paint but it can chip from rocks.

Are you wanting to powder coat the stock springs or coil over spring?

You can definitely get them powder coated. If you can find another set of new stock springs from another Tundra, I would use them. So your not waiting for a week to get them done while your truck is taken apart. Most shops that do coil over lifts to tundras will have them after the lift is done.

After the powder coat is applied they will have to put the springs in a spring vise and this process can possible scratch the new powder coat. Just a heads up. 7226A431-664F-4761-A807-552184082344.jpg
