My new tundra is coated with pollen. Didnt think anything of it then did some research and many say that pollen is terrible for paint and especially when it gets wet it becomes more acidic. Evidently the wind blew rain under my carport so now the whole side of my truck got wet with the pollen. Ill wash it in the morning but is it as bad as some say? Is that stuff eating away at my clear coat right now?

This is really going to depend on if you have sealant or coating on your truck to protect the paint. I would also think that it depends on the pollen.

Pollen is pretty harmless to automotive finishes, but you have to be very careful with tree sap - the sticky stuff.

In the spring our cars get covered in pine pollen. Its bright yellow. No issues with paint, it just washes off

I’ve never had any problems with pollen causing any damage , as has been said it just washes off .

It's what doesn't get washed off is bad. Those spots will grow moss later.

With today's environmentally-friendly clear coat, it would surprise me if anything organic dissolved in water didn't damage an automotive paint surface.

And if it’s not pollen, it’s crap coming out of the air from a controlled burn being pushed in by a strong north wind. Arrrggg.
