I only wish the front could keep up. On that note, I guess I'll let everyone know what my near-future plans are as far as suspension goes..

I plan on combining the 7" BDS drop-bracket lift with a Camburg long-travel kit. There are several gains to be had from that, other than the obvious travel numbers, such as moving the wheel hub forward an inch, increasing the track width ~4.5" for a lower CoG, and removing the need for wheel spacers up front, which would help minimuze wheel arc radius when turning. It's going to a step-by-step upgrade..

Step 1 is Camburg UCA, LCA, axles, plus other hardware. I'll use my existing mid-travel coilovers with a top spacer; the only downside is not maximizing the LT kit's travel numbers it could provide.

Step 2 could go either way between getting custom dual-rate long-travel coilovers (I'm thinking 500lb top spring and 700lb bottom) to match the bracket lift ..or, if the MT coilovers are performing decent (travel can't get any worse than what I have now -- only better), the coilover upgrade can wait a bit and the cash could be spent on Camburg's rear components (shock relocation, bolt-on air bumps ..or a secondary shock up front.

When I go to my next set of wheels/tires.. I'm thinking of going a little more understated.. gray wheels instead of white but will probably keep the blue ring accent..

Are you thinking just painting them (or having them painted) or new wheels altogether?

I'm going to try and rattlecan the current wheels just to see the look in person but I am going to bigger wheels in a few weeks (after tax refund comes in, haha) that I'd try and buy in gray (then paint the rings -- or buy a bolted rock ring online).

Those will be nice. Gonna try and bump up the tire size as well? Or gonna leave it at 37s?

Agreed! Especially with 40s underneath. I'm not going with wide tires though, or at least I'll be trying not to for less rolling friction. I'm looking to go with the Maxxis Razr MTs in 40x13.5 but a strong second choice are the Mickey Thompson MTZ P3s in 40x14.5. My 37s are 12.5 wide right now.

I assume you air down when you wheel, so even those maxxis at 13.5 will be way more traction pad off road!

Yea, that's my thinking, too. I'm more excited for the extra clearance the 40s are going to provide. That's 1.5"!

40x13.5x20 aired down to 8-12 psi is a massive traction pad for offroad already. He will be keeping his side wall close to the same as it is now(actually I think he will still be adding sidewall)

Edit: just did the math, he will be adding 1/2 an inch of side wall compared to his current set up, and 1 1/2 inch of clearance

Other than what was just stated above. I can't keep it at 18" because there aren't many tire options at that size. There are way more options at 17" and 20", which also makes them cheaper. 17s would also be a tight fit or not work at all with my BDS lift kit's spindle.

Made a few adjustments to Pluto today: blacked out the center of the KC HiLiTES Daylighters covers, colored the Method Race Wheels Double Standard wheels gray, and mounted more Rigid Industries Duallys to the sides of the roof rack. I also removed the awning because I sold it.

They're subtle changes but they help give the truck a more understated look.
