Just bought a 2020 crew max platinum that didn’t come with a sunroof. Was wondering if there was anybody else with this setup. The dealer said it was kinda rare. And for those who don’t have sunroofs, do you wish you had one? Or what was the deciding factor on opting out of that option? I've had them in previous vehicles and now I’m kinda missing it. The interior ceiling looks so vast and Barron without one lol.

I have not seen a platinum without a sunroof so I can see why the dealer would say they are rare. I personally did not want a sunroof that was a non negotiable factor for me. My last two vehicles had sunroofs and both eventually leaked.

My feelings exactly. I do not have a sunroof on my Tundra (would not have purchased one with a sunroof) and never open the one on my Corolla. And yes, it leaks.

I special ordered my 1794 and was told that, though the sunroof is not "standard" on them and the Platinums, every 1794 and Platinum had the option installed. I didn't really care either way so I didn't push it. I knew that Toyota didn't use the ceiling space for anything anyway, like my old Titan did. There were all kinds of storage bins in the ceiling that I do miss a little.

I have a 2019 Crewmax Platinum without a sunroof. It's the way it was on the lot when I bought it. Sunroof was not a big deal for me so I didn't mind it.

Ditto, leaks waiting to happen and I used to open and close the cover on mine anyways to keep the sun off my face/head while driving. Have had two on prior vehicles and both leaked after 100k (2001 Jeep and 2010 Camaro). The freakin T-Tops on my 1990 Camaro with 200k miles held up better than the newer crap..

For me, glad I opted for the sunroof. Roll all 4 windows down, roll the back window down and open the sunroof...it’s an awesome feeling.

I think it's the opposite as mine was ordered the same way by the original owner. The VIN specs even state the "removal" at factory. I have bouts of thinking I wanted a sunroof but I didn't want to risk leaking or the glass to pop/break. I too miss the ceiling storage. The 07-13 had that.

My 2020 platinum did not have a sunroof. I preferred no sunroof but when I asked about it they said it was for weight reasons. Salesman said platinum with spray on liner did not have sunroof. The ones with sunroof did not have spray on.

That’s strange. But it may be true. My truck has the bed liner

I've never had a sunroof leak. The key is protecting the rubber seal with 303 Protectant or something similar.

I don’t have one, my wife’s Lexus does, I rarely open the glass when driving hers but I do open the shade, it lets in more light and feels more spacious especially as the evening approaches. I’ll probably get one with next time.
