Was thinking about plasti dipping my wheels glossy black. The wheels are stock alloy and I hate the look of them. I'm on a budget right now which is why I don't wanna spend the money for new wheels. Any one have any experience with plasti dip or have any opinions on the matter? Any help would be appreciated.

Pain in the ass to do, difficult to keep clean, and will start peeling in a couple of years.

^^agreed. If you do dip em make sure you spray them down often. Any dirt or mud left on will end up staining it. But it's a nice cheap option

I sure appreciate all of the help everyone! Like I said it's a cheap way to get around buying wheels for now. The wheels I'm plasti dipping don't really mean much to me so if it doesn't work out then oh well. Again I thank you all for the help! Keep the info coming. I'd like to learn as much about it as I can!

You won't get a gloss finish with dip. I would get them powdercoated if the dollar amount is worth it to you.

    Welcome bud!

I had gone with a matte black look of dip on my last Tundra and my Tacoma. I used 7 coats, starting out light with the first 2 coats and covering everything behind the wheel using a plastic bag. Both trucks came out well, and held up through the year without issue. Winter and such, plus multiple car washes. Just have to know how to take care of dip. There are great videos that explain how to do it.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFYX_5cS1go

This is the video that I used as my prime How To Video.

Good luck if you do this, I think you'll be happy, especially if it's a short term solution.
I believe there are pictures of my Blue tundra with the wheels done in my own build link.

I dipped mine but plan to get them powdercoated when I can because I miss the shine. I used a bunch of coats, I think 7 black and 3 coats Glossifier.

Same thing with my chrome bumper ends...
