So I’ve been searching for phone mounts that I like for the new tundra. Even if my truck had wireless charging I wouldn’t use it and I don’t like having my phone in the cubbie in front of the gear shifter.

Anyway, I’ve seen several interesting ideas but none are as minimalistic as I’d hoped to find by now.

The most optimal mount for myself would be something that could hold the phone just to the right of the start button and between the volume knob but slightly below the vent and the infotainment monitor. Attached a picture of my checkbook (best thing I could use to replicate mounting location).

Proclipusa has many similar mounting solutions that could easily work but nothing for 22 tundra yet.

First off, let say this: A checkbook? I haven't seen a checkbook in years. Kudos to you.

Secondly: If I wanted to mount my phone right there, I would install a Ram or ICS mount right there.

Check out Rokform. They’ve got really good magnetic mounts.

The skull & crossbones is one of their magnetic mounts. When I added the new HU I added one of their swivel mounts to the right. I’ve been really happy with all their stuff.

OFFROAM is in the process of making one. Had one for the F150 and it was perfect

Yeah the checkbook is still used :). Stays in my truck because if I move it anywhere else I forget where it’s at!

Looked good but unfortunately they mount to an air vent and that’s something I’m wanting to avoid.

Found an eBay solution. ProClip hasn't came out with there release yet but MagSafe ProClip device mount works perfectly (holes line up). Yeah, I know...this is near the vent...blah blah. I want a phone solution like yesterday and this fits the bill for me.

Link for eBay 2022 Tundra Mount.
    A-Tach # 50380 Phone Mount Fits Toyota Tundra (2022-Curent Year) | eBay

    ProClip Device Mount for MagSafe
    https://www.proclipusa.com/products...hone-12-series-requires-apple-magsafe-charger

I did partially crack the mount. I couldn't get it to really lock in place. But it is secure now. There is no sticky tape on the mount... unlike what the directions state. Hope this helps someone. Drove to the lake and back and this setup worked perfect.

I've been using these for my last several vehicles:

Scosche MAGDMB MagicMount Magnetic Car Phone Holder Mount - 360 Degree Adjustable Head, Universal with All Devices - Dashboard Mount

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I608BJ8

They can be mounted so the phone is in your eye-line and using a little piece of metal attached to the phone (under the case & below the wireless charging area) they hold it in place really well. Great for access. I've now left my phone in the Tundra every time I get out because it's on the wireless charger out of my sight!!! :-(

I have found that silicone cases can slide around a little on rough roads so I stick with carbon fiber cases for my iPhone. I'm not a fan of vent-mounted devices ...I don't like the idea of the cold / hot air blowing on the back of the phone.

I haven't found one out of the box that works great for me yet, frankensteined something together with a few different parts:
    the Off-road 2022 specific mount (https://getoffroam.com/products/phone-mount-kit-toyota-tundra-gen-3-2022)
    a 6" ball arm (https://www.ics-fab.com/products/shorty-arm-6-glossy-matte)
    20-17mm barbell, (https://www.ics-fab.com/products/20mm-to-17mm-double-ball-mount)
Spigen magsafe holder that I already had (https://www.spigen.com/collections/...ducts/magfit-car-mount?variant=40138337714223)

ill post a pic when its done, but waiting on the longer arm to get the phone away from the ac vent and sit where I want it (about where that checkbook photo above is showing)

This is what I found that works perfectly for exactly what I was looking for and in the exact picture in beginning. Took a while but I knew I’d find something eventually.

Works perfect for me due to the fact that its position blocks absolutely nothing. I can access the stop/start button, trailer brake controller, volume button, gear shifter, even the ac vents. Also ran wire under the gear shifter area into the console so there’s no wires dangling and hanging out anywhere.

This may not be optimal for everyone but it’s the exact solution I was looking for and since I finally found it figured it was time to update and share here in the event someone else was looking.

    Parts needed -

Phone Mount - scosche 4-1 phone Mount

    Mag safe charger

Thanks worked out really good, I was able to fish the charging cable through the flex covering to the phone mount.

TufSkinz. they have a lot of different options, although that logo in a couple different colors is all that is in stock right now.

You and I think a lot alike with phone Mount positioning :). Wish I’d have seen this before I got my Mount as I like this better and it’s likely a bit more stable than mine. While mine never falls off, there is some ‘bounce’ to the phone when mounted and driving down the road.

I asked Proclip and they're in need of a local truck to do some test fitting. Anyone in Wisconsin, Milwaukee, or Chicago can meet up with Proclip so we can get their mounts made sooner? Let me know and I'll coordinate!

How has this set up held up for you? The Offroam installation guide suggests against posting the mount it to the bottom corner like this, but yours looks secure enough and I like the placement better. Hope it's gone well
