    hey guys,

Looking for a decent phone mount that isn’t a pile of garbage. Does anyone have a decent setup?

I’m not sure if interior matters but I have a 2015

Look at ram mounts. They have several solutions. I have the xgrip on my sxs and it is rock solid.

^ I like how you cut the Otter Box case for the ball mount. Excellent idea! Is your phone a 7plus or 8plus? I'm asking because I'm wondering if your phone can still charge via the wireless charger - if your phone is compatible.

It's a 7 Plus, so I don't do any wireless charging and don't know if the little dish plate would interfere.

Not really. It's been fairly hot here in VA and it has not been an issue. Granted, not as consistently hot as TX so you usage may vary.

same here, works great, no need to cut anything, uses strong adhesive tape, and the silver surround makes it look like it's supposed to be in the Tundra

    and it's only like $17

+1 for Scosche mounts. I've been using the flush mounted option for a few years now with zero complaints.

Using a Hondo garage mount along with a Ram mount, works great and it’s very strong.

Its a calculated sacrifice. I also figure since my phone is at bare minimum streaming music 100% of the time its in the truck, it deserves half an ac vent.

What are you using to mount it to the vent? I see the Ram X on Amazon but I don't see the type of mount you have?

Love Gibski's hidden mount, when i get time I'm going to try to get a charger mounted under the magnet. 20180203_162352.jpg 20180203_164040.jpg

If needed with this mount you can turn the phone vertical or horizontal at anytime needed.

I’ve used this mount for quite a while, and was very happy with it. That said, I switched to an iPhone X from a 7 a few weeks ago. The bigger phone doesn’t hold as well. It flops around, and occasionally falls off. I have to make sure it is centered perfectly to combat this.
In addition, the plate inside the phone case makes wireless charging a no-go. Between the plate and the otter box, it doesn’t work.
I’d actually wanted to do the wireless charger arm rest mod, but Car Play doesn’t work through Bluetooth on my specific head unit. Music also sounds much better using a cord than it does with Bluetooth.

I prefer nothing across my dash line and have a minimal clear backed case so no magnet stickers, affects wireless charging I believe too. I use this instead:
