Hi All, am looking at mountable storage solutions for under my camper shell. Really love the look of the pelican cargo cases with their saddle bed side mount. Anyone done this and like it? Pics/review????

Also, more importantly, am I going to have interference issues with my snugtop rebel?

Here are the cases im looking at, specifically the bx85s side mounted:

Considering the cost, does anyone have suggestions where to buy pelican stuff, or when/how to get a deal????

Finally, am I missing something? Another solution I should look at? I’ve looked at the swingcase and the humpstor but they seem lackluster at best.

Just wanted to add that this will mostly be for recovery gear and tools. So needs to be strong enough to hold some heft and handle some off-road trails.

Bumping, reached out to Pelican to get their feedback on interference with the camper shell.

Here is the response from pelican regarding the compatibility with a camper shell:

Installation of Pelican Cargo Mounts is dependent on camper shell design and mounting. Cargo bed-mounts will work ONLY if shell/topper does not cover the bed rail mounting surfaces required by the specific desired Cargo mounting kit. Otherwise, modification of camper shell may be required for clearance. Adjustment of camper mounting hardware may also be required. NOTE with Cargo saddle cases, case lid opening/access may be hindered by camper shell.

Hoping someone else has tried this out?????

I am looking at the same thing. Hoping it would work with BAK MX4 rollup tonneau cover.
Have you looked at those storage boxes that come on the trail edition? You would get a big cooler on the drivers side too!

I figured the trail edition would be too hard and too pricy. Plus I like that I can take this out quickly and use it on other vehicles or on the roof.

To be honest, I’ve been to busy to get this in the truck and installed, hoping to do it soon. Once I do I’ll get pictures and post them.

Did you ever get anywhere with this project?

I’m looking for similar storage options for truck bed w/ mounting plates. I have no shell, but I do have an MX4 cover. Pelican prices are insane, so I’m trying to figure out what my best options are.

I was looking to see how the side saddle brackets mount to the rail system. The BakFlip requires the rail system to drop down about 2" or more
