How much has the PC helped you in achieving better MPGs?

Does not help with MPG, just throttle sensitivity/adjustability

Eliminates the throttle delay. Well worth the price. The Tundra and the 4Runner both use PC27, so you can find them in either marketplace unless you choose to buy a brand new one.

Well yeah, that's what I meant. How much better MPGs do you get after you make your throttle less responsive.

The only thing that you can do for best MPG in a V8 Tundra is - don't lift it, keep stock size tires, keep speeds down (it is a brick) and NO idling, idle will kill your tank MPG AVG really quick.. Do that and you should get EPA ratings or a little better.

Not many buy the PC to make their throttle less responsive. I just took mine off because I have some warranty work coming up. Miss that thing.

Or do like the rest of us...put gas in it, and enjoy it. I'll sacrifice mpgs for reliability any day.

It does absolutely nothing for mpg……in fact probably negative in that category. But it makes the truck much more drivable in my opinion - the throttle delay / lag used to drive me nuts. It’s night and day with it

I do just that. I knew exactly what I was getting into when buying my Tundra. The thing is, I have a lead boot.

@2020Platinum has tested it on his channel and has gotten some small gains (~3%) from ECO mode (summary around 11:00):
    https://youtu.be/WiuWISrhJwI?t=656

I've tried one PC and two different HikeIt models; at best don't expect more than 5% even though they may claim up to +20%.

Since you have one already keep in mind the ECO mode setting is inverted. So all your other settings +4 is the best; in ECO +4 is the slowest/muted response.

Aside from mods and weight and along with what the others are saying about MPGs check out what @Kur was saying recently about how to max your MPGs through driving behavior. Worth the read IMO:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tundra-v8-better-mpg.105935/page-6#post-2772529

With a muted "ECO" throttle it is easier to maximize your instant MPGs, after a while you'll sense it by feel and sound.

I had one on my GX460 with 35s and well worth it. Definitely opened up the V8!

Thats exactly what I mean by better mpgs. I know the PC doesnt tune the truck, just adjusts the sensitivity. And with a muted response its easier to feather it, giving you more MPGs.

It definitely seems to break up the first few stages of the pedal into more stages. Thats what it feels like at least but I understand that is not what is actually happening. Stock to ECO this quality is very noticeable.

It is also good for wetter conditions where you would loose traction or you need a more calibrated response from the throttle.

So Ive had the PC on for 2 days. Ive tried it in sport+ +4 and it sucks. I just tap the gas and the truck takes off like if I floored it. Its great if you want that, but I dont. City mode is great, I forget what # I had it on, but its a nice zippy drive. Eco -4 is my jam tho. I can hit the gas just right for that rumbly V8 cruise that makes all the nearby F150s burn oil faster. Im able to feather it just right, just how I like. Today I got 16.3 mpgs which is pretty damn good for me. Its not the 20+ I get with my grandpas single cab Ram, but Im pretty happy with it.

What year is your truck? Some of the earlier Tundra's had fairly touchy pedals from the factory to begin with, so the P/C might make it feel worse for some I would think.

Yeah Sports Plus at +4 is stupid, it felt like I would wreck my transmission in that mode.

So is the PC worth it with a supercharger? I have the Harrop and it seems like I have to floor the truck to high rpm’s to get any power. I’m on 34s and seems sluggish unless I punch it. (I hope you understand what I’m trying to convey here.)

It feels like that with a SC on 34s?

I think I understand but what you describe could be a few issues so it is hard to say. Maybe ask in the Harrop thread?

I'm not lifted with heavy wheels yet so I'm not sure I can tell you definitively this will improve your experience. I also think the feel of the stock throttles on 2015 vs 2020 may be different.

Even on Harrop Stage 1 (untuned) I never had issues in the low RPMs. Besides some traction issues with the stock AT2s the S/Ced truck is pretty fast for a big heavy vehicle (I'm usually laden with a couple of 100lbs in the bed). I definitely surprised a few people that didn't want to let me pass.

For me anything in City and above felt like like transmission was slamming into gear and the pedal was way too touchy for my liking. If I didn't feather it I'd squeal tires constantly and the truck would lurch forward violently. I hated ECO mode at first but it ended up being my favorite mode before I swapped out to try a different controller. Once I got used to it it was my preferred mode considering I really hated it at first.

At least mine does on untuned Stage1 Harrop. It feels great in Tow/Haul but I don’t like how the shift points occur. Sometimes they are perfect and some times it just hangs in a gear and doesn’t want to upshift. And I have to hit the button after every start up.
