I've had a PC on my 5th gen 4R and I currently have a Tesla Model 3, but I have the new Tundra on order. I'm wondering if they'd make a PC for it soon as they've had it up to 2021 model and if it would be beneficial on the new Tundra. I felt that it helped a lot on the 4R personally, but since this has a turbo and 10 spd trans over the N/A 5spd auto I've had on the 4R, I'm not sure how much further it'll help. What do you guys think?

Just one man’s opinion here.. perhaps you ought to drive the truck first and then decide.

This and make sure to put it in tow mode while you're driving it.

I have driven it... this will be my 3rd pickup but my 18th vehicle overall. There is always room for improvement no matter what it is o_O

I dig that last sentence for sure. All I’m saying is that putting a few hundred miles on it before you pull the trigger on a $300 throttle controller that may or may not make a marked difference may be of some benefit to you and your pocket book. :D

Haha yeah, that's true. I'm hoping someone else will test it out for me first XD Well, it's not even made yet, so I'll just have to wait and see :)

This. The 3.5L TT is no 4.0. It should not need much help seeing as it makes 479 ft-lbs at 2400 rpm. I have a pedal comander on my 4.6L Lexus GX even but never once felt the need on my F150.

My 2014 Ecoboost makes less torque than the tundra and at slightly higher RPM and I rarely ever need it to downshift, it just goes. 7% grades at 7000' in 6th gear at 1700 rpm like its nothing, even with 315/70's.

Plus, doesnt the new tundra have a sport mode? That would effectively do the same thing but also reprograms the transmission, not just the throttle pedal mapping. That is one thing that annoys me with the PC on my GX is that it still has the same crappy shift strategy, you just don't push the pedal as far.

I did test drive one, but that one didn't have it as far as I can remember. The one I have on order might since it's a higher trim and if so, I suppose I won't need the PC.

I’ve had two pedal commanders. Both them went to shit after about a year. Look at banks pedal monster. It actually gets its power from the OBDii instead of through the gas pedal. There’s not a lot of voltage in the pedal. If there’s a little fluctuation you lose control of the pedal. I had one that was losing rpm’s randomly for no reason while cruising on a highway at a constant speed.

Tow haul mode is a built in free pedal commander for “sport mode”. Turning it off puts you back in “eco mode”. Then of course there’s Beast Mode, for a “sport+” experience. Interested to see if the Gen 3 has the same configurations available.

My PC never gave me any issues aside from it lighting up my dash when I installed it initially that was taken care of as soon as I took it off and re-installed it. I've had no complaints with the unit I've had and I actually gave it to my brother after I sold my 4R because he ended up getting one. It seems like we won't need the PC on the new trucks if it has Sport mode.
