If your baby keeps throwing up, you need to give them some electrolytes. Feeding them more usually upsets their stomach even more and it gets worse. You need to give them some Pedialyte. If your baby won't drink the pedialyte, freeze it and feed them ice chips.

Never strap a child in a car seat with a thick jacket on. They will seem secure, but in an accident, the belts won't be tight enough and they'll fly out of the car seat.

If your baby's a drooler, buy a bunch of cheap cloth bibs. Much easier to swap bibs than changing their shirt 10 times a day.

Great idea! We can also share lessons learned. First lesson learned: Be quick and ninja like with the diaper changes to lessen the chance of getting rocket sharted on lol (twice now)

Only use swimming diapers when they are swimming. They do not absorb anything and leaks like crazy. We had one of my kids sitting in a pool of pee in her carseat for a 3 hour drive. :(

Don't talk "baby talk" to your kids. If you speak to them normally they'll develop language skills much more quickly. And, get down at their level to talk to 'em instead of standing over 'em and talking down to 'em.

I find this comical in a different way because we went through 2 rounds of IVF to create this kid. Funny how your entire life growing up (or at least mine) your parents always stressed safe sex and to never get a girl pregnant. And then when the time came we had to turn to a chemistry set for help lol

Sorry. Don't mean to make light of an issue a lot of people go thru. We have friends that went thru the same thing, and like you, were blessed to finally get pregnant and have a baby.

If you're flying, especially a long overseas flight, you can get a seat with a bassinet in front of you.

It's probably going to turn into a "why not to have any kids" thread. :D

No apologies necessary. My wife and I are the biggest advocates of addressing infertility issues after what we went through. It's amazing how many people go through this but never really talk about it. Almost as if "Infertility" and "IVF" are bad words.

A big +1 to that. All I can make light/fun of is my own situation and circumstances and my response fit that to a "T" :)....no disrespect meant.

Or considering that this is in the Build section maybe it will become a baby build thread or how to make a baby... [insert youporn links here]

Don't hold the baby face down over your head and talk to it, but do tell your kid brother it's the baby's favorite position. Your sister will know better, regardless of her age.

If you don't have a thermometer, get one. And not an oral one, especially with mercury. We use an ear thermometer and probably still use it 3-4 times a year.
