Has anyone tried painting their textured black mirror caps with rattle can color match? And maybe door handles too? I was saving my old chrome ones to try but a member needed them more than me so their gone. I'd like to try mirrors first because idk how door handles will hold up

I've thought about doing the same thing...here's a thread from another forum where a guy did his door handles...seems relatively simple

Normal black mirrors. I'd be painting them the greatest and fastest color

I was thinking of trying this too. I am lookin at the paint at automotivetouchups.com but trying to figure out how much to get to do the mirror caps and handles. 2 12oz can be enough do you think?

I actually bought an 1995 F150 because I didn't use the Tundra so it just made more sense to get something older for the time being. I plan on buying a new one once they do the redesign.

Blue is an awesome color. I took a photo of @Areith762 and I truck together (his avatar) and it really shines out.

Just dropped my black textured handles and caps off at the body shop to get painted. Said it would be about a week.

    To your original question @Pudge

    - Sand (220, 400)
    - Wash (soap and water), no degreaser.
    - Dry
    - Alcohol (91%) wipe down w/ lint free towel
    - Adhesion Promoter
    - SEM 39133
    - Paint (1G3, if you want to be super awesome)
    - Clear
    - Wetsand, polish

How much supply do you think I would need for the mirror caps and handles? I was thinking a 12 oz aerosol of both the base and clear would do???

I've used the 8 oz spray cans of DupliColor, from Autozone/ Advanced AP/ Orielly's. In part b/c they have the 1G3 color, along with several other Toyota factory colors. I'm not sure if they make or carry your blue (which it looks like is either 8T0, or 8T5).

I would just confirm your paint code here
Then check the interwebs for a rattle can or bottle (for spray gun). An 8 oz. rattle can should be plenty for laying down two mist coats and a wet coat. Same with clear.
