Was thinking about getting the p365x over the p365 as my daily carry. Anyone have experiences with both firearm?

    I've handled both

I would choose the x for myself...grip is more comfortable and stable in my hand plus optic ready makes it a way better choice to me

Get the xl. If you do some research the p365 had some problems when if first came out. I think Military Arms on youtube has two that broke within a 100 rounds. I think the second was less than 20 rounds. But the changes to the xl fixed many of the problems.

I own and really like the XL. Paired it with a Blackhawk Serpa CQC p365xl holster.

The non-xl with extended mag doesn't help the grip situation?

Smaller than my p225. At first I was not sure I would like it because my p225 and I go way back. In the Summer I carry OWB with an untucked shirt.

Gotcha, I have a vp9 for owb. I have been considering the p365x since it’s a little bit bigger but not too big to be uncomfortable for iwb.

I own a 365 and purchased a complete 365xl upper. I also bought several different color 365 standard frames and several different color xl frames to mix it up. I have 10 round (extended and non extended), 12 round for both the standard and the XL frames and 15 round mags with all of them in different colors as well. Because of the modularity only taking seconds to switch to whichever configuration you want I find it extremely versatile.

I kept the 365 to carry, then a 365xl, then got a g43x and now the 365 just sits in a cup holder in one of my trucks. The 43x with shield arms mags can't be beat imo. I didn't find a benefit in the 365xls larger slide when the 12 round mags fit my larger hands fine when in the 365.

I considered a Glock 43x but finding those mags for less than 3 times MSRP was next to impossible.

I ordered mine a few months back from shield arms with no wait. Still got a couple new ones if you still want to go that route. I've got a little over 1000 rounds on the gen 2 mags without a hiccup. Otherwise the 10 rounders leave alot to be desired in my opinion.

I was looking into it during the heat of Covid last year and with all the scalpers buying them and selling them on GB I said heck with it. I'll look into it getting one again. Thanks for the offer and will let you know. I have a Glock 30 and the 10mm Conversion kit so that I can run 45, 10mm and 40 S&W through it as well. For me the Glock 43x with the 15 round mags is the quintessential compact powerhouse, still not as concealable as the P365 but a lot of firepower in a reliable and virtually indestructible package.

My edc is the 365xl, and I had the M&P shield before that, and the Glock 48. The other two are in the safe now. I just feel more comfortable with the 365XL, nothing wrong with the other two ,also.

I have a Hellcat. With the mag extension on the 11 or the 13 mag, the gun is very comfortable in my hands. I’m 6’2 also, so not like my hands are all that small. I have no problems being on target despite the kick. But that’s to be expected from a micro. Over 500 rounds through it without a single issue. I don’t even feel it when I’m carrying at appendix. I have a 3 o clock holster for deeper concealment or if I’m doing a lot of walking. But I’m wearing it appendix 99.9% of the time as it’s very comfortable in that position.

Totally. In fact, at first I wasn’t happy. Then, I found out I was the problem. With some practice, it’s accurate, and very reliable. Highly concealable, and high capacity for that size. I wouldn’t go any other way for the purpose of concealment

Very true. I would not use the Blackhawk Serpa for an IWB. I have a Milt Sparks Executive Companion for my P225. Still looking for a leather holster for the p365XL because I do have the Romeo Zero sight. I may end up asking Milt Sparks to do one...I do like the p225 holster very much.

I just went to a 365xl. They say The pinkie dangle on abbreviated butt guns isn’t supposed to matter but it always did on my G26. Constantly fought high groups. I was already moving to Sig because I prefer the trigger and went for the full grip because I knew I wanted it after my 26.

I got to thinking, if I need grip extensions to be more consistent I might as well go to an upsized subcompact. I feel like I gain more on shoot ability in the bigger grip than I lose with conceal ability. Although at some point I think a 365xl frame with a 365 slide would be perfect.

Late to this party, but I've shot the P365, and owned both a Glock 43 and now own the P365XL. I've got at least about 200rds through each.

The nerd in me 'wanted' the P365 for supposedly increased concealability, but given that the entire reason I'm selling my G43 is because I had to buy an extender just to get my pinky on it....I felt it made more sense to get the P365XL to have a bit more control. I've carried my XL for a week now and with the extra 1/2 inch, I think it is, I don't really notice the difference.

But I sure as hell notice it when I'm on the range. I think my worst shot grouping so far is like 4" at a range of 10-12 yards, and that's probably 2 shots every second. There's no way in hell I could have done that with my G43 even with the grip extender.

In other words - I highly recommend the P365XL. :)

I did order a Sparks Summer Special 2 IWB holster. There is a 14-20 week backlog so It'll be a bit before I get it. I'm looking forward to it. I mostly IWB in the Summer so waiting is not an issue.

The only 365XL holsters they make that will take the Romeo Zero are the Summer Special 2 and Versa Max 2. You have to call them to order and that makes sure you get what you are wanting.

I saw videos online about this, forgot who. May have been military arms. But the 365 had issues with the initial ones coming off the line. Sig not only owned up to it, but apparently have since fixed the issue. I do not remember the specific problem, but there are enough videos of guys running 2000 rounds (not cleaned too!!), without little to no issue. One youtube gun guy had one mis-feed at about the 1300 round count. and continued shooting until he was over 2000 rds.

I'll soon have a 365, mainly for its small size. But my friends with 365s are now getting the XL

I’ve had both and the 365x is way better ! Better grip and still get the concealable slide. Optics ready ! It’s a no brainer

I absolutely love mine. I probably have about 500 rounds through it, and have not had one misfeed yet – and I’ve thrown some pretty crappy ammo at it intentionally.

firing pins were the main culprit, they would fail by deforming and bending. Sig did did a pretty extensive recall campaign and install new pins in all guns manufactured prior to a certain date if i recall correctly.

As far as your choices go, it comes down to preference on what you should buy off the shelf. As has been stated, Sigs new platforms are modular, with plenty of aftermarket support. So you can buy one to start, and always get adaptions later.

The effective range of these pistols should be used at, the barrel and slide length are irrelevant from a ballistics standpoint. So it really comes down to grip.

I’m of the opinion that having the flexibility of a smaller gun is best, with Mag extensions for extra capacity/grip if needed is a good option. You can make the 365 feel like an XL within reason, but you can’t have the concealable side of the 365 with the XL.

All of this being said, RDS are the way to go, and buying a gun that’s optic ready is always more cost effective than milling, or buying aftermarket slides later.
