P0717 code and battery issues - weird coincidence or did I fry my ECM?

The other day I woke up to an almost dead battery in the Tundra. Tossed the trickle charger on overnight only to end up with a completely dead battery. Had to get to work so I cleaned the battery terminals and hooked up my lithium battery jumper and started the car. Realized later that I left an interior light on which was killing it.

Unfortunately as I was driving to work that day the check engine and traction control off lights came on the dash. Pulled the code and its P0717 "input/turbine speed sensor "A" circuit no signal".

Wondering if my battery issue somehow got me a false reading I disconnected the battery to clear the code. Next day I went for a spin and the CE light came right back on.

I tried to follow the instructions here after PROCEDURE though seems like there is a lot of automotive tech jargon that I'm not familiar with. Basically I found the front and rear passenger side sensors on the transmission, pulled them out and tested them with the ohm meter.

That test says the sensor at 68* F should read 560 to 680 Ω. When I tested them just now I got 621 and 619.

The test then goes on to test the ECM and harness but I couldnt figure out how to get to that plug and test the wires.

Any other ideas on what to check or is it time to bring it to the pros?

    Did you replace the battery?

I did not - I think I left an interior light on which was killing it. Car has started fine ever since then.

I would definitely have the battery tested. This could all just be related to a damaged battery.

Ill give that a try then, seems odd that it's holding a charge fine.

That's why you need to have it load tested.

Update, it was the sensor. Replaced it with a $16 part from RockAuto and so far so good. The part I used was WVE 5S12624
