Is Mat working on them? I hope so because I am looking at either a 2019 or 2020 Tundra and I would like the first thing I do is get it tuned. I have it on my 16 tacoma and it changed the truck completely. Toyota really screwed that thing up big time, at lest till about 2018 when they finally fixed the calibration from the factory.

I'm sure he is. When I bought my 13, there was only the hypertech tuner. It was ok, but I put over 100k miles on my truck before there was anything decent, let alone a fully tuned truck.

Mine took a while but there were numerous extenuating circumstances.

I complained but it was worth it.

My truck has been running so well, I hadn't gone out to flash my last engine update. I finally got around to it today. I don't know what I'll do with myself if the transmission portion gets completed! It shifts great and doesn't hold gears. Very nice. The only problem left is that at wot, it shifts to early in first gear. And of course my gear lock doesn't actually stay locked. I'm probably repeating myself, but that's what I do best when I'm board.

Not sure what changes were made to this last engine update, but they were probably minor. Mat did say my wot figures looked amazing.

I guess after it all competed, I'll have to buy me a set of headers and have a little more fun flashing my truck. Huh. That sounds a little weird reading back that last sentence.

Dude, don't say shit like that or Mat will think our eagerness to get updates is nothing but a ruse.;)

I send in my logs for the 1st revision tune 7 weeks ago. Does usually take this long?

Sometimes... It depends on how backed up he is. He did mention we should email him for specifics, so you might do that. 2 months is pushing it a bit. It may depend on the ECU version you have too.

For people wondering about update status, there are 2 things we are working on before updating everyone.

    1. Cold start throttle limp mode on flex fuel trucks with superchargers. This issue has killing us in terms of doing anything or developing more. I'm still working out what exactly is causing it. Because our truck is flex fuel and it's been cold here so my truck is pretty much useless until I solve this.

    2. S mode gear lock revision for tow haul

I have not had an update for a while and waiting for the Tacoma folks to be taken care of so we can get some quality time from Matt and get this wrapped up. Up here in Sedona we headed up to Snow Bowl and coming down the mountain I ended up turning off the Tow/Haul button because the downshifting is not correct and stays in a lower gear than you would need. Once turned off it was fine but this is all due to the 5.29’s from what I heard from Matt. The Taco Dudes encountered this already. Just a little more time and this will be sorted out I am sure

I understand your frustration, when I bought my 2018 new I was looking but until Toyota had a flash update to the ECU nobody was able to break the code. I had one company offer me a tune but wanted me to take the ECU out and bring to them for a while. I did research and was not convinced this was the path I wanted to take. I held off and went with Matt as soon as I found out it could be broken as soon as Toyota had a flash update.

    Be patient

Killer info on this forum. Well I think as far as engine mods I’m good at this point. Will probably put in for a tune sometime this week. @azTony what’s your mpg looking like? I’m getting like 12-13 hwy.

Yep. If we get lucky, the fuel pump recall on the 19s will have a new ECU calibration and we’ll be all set.

@OVTune I have emailed my ticket every 3 days or so for the past two weeks and heard absolutely 0 back.

I found out I do not have the proper base tune, its the non-long tube header tune, and I have long tube headers and race exhaust

this is what was sent for base tune 0C604 B87 GL 6600 TCU Build 000.p5f

I sent you my logs weeks ago (jan 19), and no response

I'm having throttle issues, no response.

I've asked for changes to my tune functions, no response

Just an email to tell me where you are at on mine would be helpful rather than leaving me in the dark, having to come on here and bitch to a public forum.

He is. There are prototypes beta ones on the road. They support a lot of tunes for a lot of vehicles that all have like 10 versions ecu each. And its not as simple as deleting your flash and uploading his.
I am also waiting for a 2019 version for my ECU. The tundra tunes are still considered Beta in progress. I hope my ECU is a common one and he can get its base code to build the tune. Because I had his tune on my Taco and loved it.

@OVTune No Base tune revision for me either since logs sent dec 13 of last year. #5221 I know your having issues with the s/c tune but cant your employee give me NON S/C revised tune in the interim so I quit burning all this extra gas. If I would have known up front that it would take 2 or 3 months for the base tune revision I would have flashed back to stock to save some gas $. It sucks buying a tune last summer and I still dont have a tow worthy usable tune yet.

There's a base tune for long tubes and race exhaust? That's what I need and pretty sure I didn't get that either.

I will email you. I'm a sitting duck right now trying to solve this exact throttle error on our dev truck. It's the weirdest and hardest thing because it does not come with any check engine lights or anything.

Rafael will have his hardware to build and update files tomorrow.
Some ECUs, depending on if we have the file already or not, can take some time.

I have to solve this throttle problem on flex fuel trucks before anything more can be done. It's not related to the patches, it's related to the flex fuel ECUs, only. I've been told it happens on Bullydog tunes, stock tune with S/C and unichip, etc.

For other people who do not require an update, we did say updates are pending until all ECU patches were done on all the files but I think that message got lost in the mix here

Appreciate your response it’s just really hard to read your fb page of all the new models your tuning since my order last summer and still don’t have a working tune on a base model stock non s/c truck. I wish you would support your existing customer in a sustainable time frame before cracking new ecus etc... why work on 2020 vehicles when you can’t deliver a 2011 year paid for tune in 6 months!!! Just my 2 cents... Esp when labor time is what has always held you back from delivering! I don’t think it’s fair to sell the tunes up front without telling the customer the time expectations.

I'm not tuning any new vehicles. Check my FB post we posted we dropped support for a vehicle.
The post about what our next development platform isn't any time soon, that's preparation for next year. And that's
Other than that, the only other stuff posted is things I'm not the only one working on. Like our software, I have a developer doing all of it, not me.

There is only 2 things I am ACTIVELY tuning / developing for. Tundra and Tacoma. The issue is 1. Tundra ECUs that we don't have can be very had to get. 2. Developing features is time consuming since there is only 1 of me. 3. There are a million of you guys.

If you're talking about the 2020 Tacoma... I have to support it. It's just a new ECU version of the same truck.

I do try to tell customers the time frame the best that I can. OLDER Toyotas are much more difficult when I don't have the file in hand. There is no possible way to read the ECU, so in THOSE cases it can take a while. It's far from every case.

Not an excuse just trying to let you guys know. Also I think half or more of the time in your case was obtaining the cal file. Your wait time was terrible, but it's not the norm.

Sorry I guess when I see posts like this below and the Jan 29 post on cracking new ecu and coming tune kits being sold it makes me think your jumping into all this new stuff and leaving us existing customers hanging.
“#OVTUNED is officially moving to their larger facility.
When we return, we will have tuning available for:
    2018-19-20 Camry v6 3.5L
    IS350 / RC350 07-19
    ISF - RCF / GSF
    Tundra 4.6L

That post is definitely not from Jan 29th 2020. that's many months old.

Some of that was scrapped (like corolla) other things just got put into the tuning software, not tunes. I don't have time for them.

    Yes.

When I bought my LT headers I was warned that some aftermarket tunes can cause the motor to run lean with LT headers. As I understand it, if the ECU detects too lean, it will cut ignition.

I asked Mat about a base tune for LT headers and he sent me a different file last week. The file he sent me has the following file name: <ecu number> 6000 - 91 oct Base - Header.p5f

So I understand that to mean: red line is 6000 rpm, tune is for 91 octane, its a base tune for use with headers
