FYI. During the flash, your current voltage is displayed in the program. I had a charger hooked to battery during the flash and had no problems. Voltage hovered around 14V.

Reflashed to stock file from DAP handheld. Flashed
OV tune in about a minute.

Preliminary report from flash. No CELs due to exhaust modifications. 1st gear hangs on longer.

Has he sent you the transmission tune? Don't forget to do a few runs in the truck while using the logger. Then he will be able to adjust things for your individual truck.

It may not be until the year 2020 though...

 

I understand his work load. Ill get him some runs. one Normal city and one hard run I think for now. Right?

I'm running the IPT trans shift kit, essentially the same thing, just a different implementation.

Yes, at times depending on load the 1-2 shift is hard but I've learned how to drive it such that it isn't a problem.

Still waiting on tune to see how it performs with shift kit... Probably take a few rounds of logging to dial it in

easy one here. 2 data files - for a normal run, how long or far to go. And for the hard pull. 0 to redline all gears?

It may be better to make this request via Zendesk so that there's a chronological conversation between Mat and you specific to your truck and your requests all in one place. He sometimes has particular things that he wants from different truck setups and having him replying here to everyone can easily confuse others.

 

I have yet to turn in any logs. Just getting an idea how far to drive normal in town. Around the block? Couple miles?

 

I understand. I'd suggest maybe a 15-20 minute log if your laptop battery will last that long. That way there's a greater variety (sprinkle a WOT or two in there) and everything's had time to warm up to operating temperature. If Mat has specific requests after that, the onus is kind of on him to let you know what that is. If you get any really strange behavior and can reproduce it. try to make another, specific log of that behavior.

 

I would guess that if you also tow a specific load fairly often for long distances (such as my 4500# boat) that it should also be logged, including up and down hills that are normally encountered.

Hi Mat, I ended up resending you my last email with logs.

I hated to, but discovered my gearlock comes unlocked and will not keep the torque converter locked at all.

Anyway, patiently waiting.

 

Curious, how are you determining gearlock is not keeping the torque converter locked?

Does the new data logger display this info?

 

I can feel it unlock. Also you can tell watching the rpms. When I feel it unlock, the rpms go up slightly. This is happening in 6th gear.

You can tell when it locks and unlocks... Easy to feel

 

The torque converter will unlock but the transmission should not downshift unless the rpm gets really low like 1500 or slightly less, then, the transmission will downshift automatically.

 

No... I'm pretty sure that was one of the selling points of this tune. A locked tq converter

Watched the video. There's an option for torque converter unlock on 5th and 6th gear. That's what I have. I'm fine with that. But I want Direct Shift. lol. You guys can request for tc lock.

 

UPDATE I GOT MY BASE TUNE!!! Thanks MatHad to wait 3 months finally!!!! but its flashed and running. Next is some time for changes to take affect and some logs. Will give you all an update once learning is done.

 

I have no info on what tune options or trans options included in this base tune. Still waiting for mat to let me know. Just happy to have something!!! Maybe somebody knows what I have tune wise from the file name? The 87 is obviously fuel. Not sure on the rest... 87 Base TCU 000.p5f

 

Hey @OVTune I was hoping you could reply to ticket 10175 if the tunes provided were all what was being asked for.... or if you'd like more, and if so what kind. I want to be able to provide you enough information and insight to make a great tune.
