1. Yes the SC tunes will work for 2019 and for FFV vehicles.
2. Newer ECU versions are not needed for tunes ***** however ***** direct shift / gearlock are only planned to be developed on latest ECU versions.
3. Regarding 2020+, we can provide you support ***however*** since the file we provide is modified we will also provide you a ECU to swap into the truck too, so you can always have your unmodified original. Currently that is all we can offer at the moment.

 

Can you elaborate this a bit more?

what are the implications of ECU swaps? costs? does this mean we buy a PCM from you that's programmable? then we buy the tune packs then modified/replace the files? or will the PCM already have loaded file based on the modifications each truck has? what are the potential issues we may have for the swap?

 

Since there aren't that many of you guys right now... I think only 2 or 3 with a 2020/2021 that want to tune, if you buy VF Tuner and a tune pack we will provide the ECM for free ***while supplies last*** since I have a few of them.

No issues, I have been running a swapped ECU in my 2021 doing development work this entire time. The only different really is the push button start setup communicates differently with the OEM ECU and we don't want people to flash those, at least not yet.



EDIT* first ECUs will go to the folks who have either purchased or requested first.

 

Ok, so the ECM wont' come pre-load with file, what's best way to directly reach you about one on one tuning? I've been trying my best to keep up with this thread but sometimes time is not on my side.

 

So if we had/have an old OV Tune, do we send you an email with what tune pack we want?

For folks w/ flash kits wanting those tunes, if we have an open ticket with you we will send the download link, if we don't have an open ticket we will need you to open a ticket. They will be ready once they are built for all ecus.

What do I need to purchase to get the 2019 TRD Super Charger tune?

 

Buy the SC tune pack to start...it's great in all regards! If you need more fine tuning you're able to do it to your liking with VFtuning...

 

I've been looking everyday but i don't see the TUNE pack on the site.
Only "TUNE packs" I see online are for Tacoma's :/

Was it released or am I doing something incorrect on my end ?

0CA33, 0CP80, and a few others are finished I just need to publish the new build.

Tune packs and such are on the site, they will remain on there from now on since we finally have all IDs.

But please let me post ahead of time that there will be some wait time if you want it right now. We have some previous customers to complete / update their tune packs, and we are low on cables. Unfortunately there is a microchip shortage and I believe our supplier has been affected also.

So just letting everyone know ahead of time we are working diligently.


Tundra Map switching is not available at this time in VF Tuner. But it will be and still work based on the original method (Tow button). There will be Map 2 - Tow configurable tables.



The primary things that change are going to be what we originally implemented which is
- Ignition Base timing - Map 2
- Shift control up/down - Map 2


*important to understand though - these will be user customizable options. It won't be custom map 2 / tuning from us. You will have to make your own edits in vF Tuner. We don't have an ETA on it at the moment though.

Posted here and sent an email to Zendesk, but just wondering how to buy the tune pack and solidify my place in line for the ECU swap. The tune pack on the website still says its only through 2019 models.

 

I wonder also if this mean Magnuson kit will now work on 2020+?

 

For 2019s it's not really a "TRD" tune like the older trucks get. It's a custom tune setup for the SC based off a N/A Calibration

You and 1 other are already first in line since you guys were first to ask / continually request.

Not at this time. 2020+ support is not official right now, this is "beta" at the moment only for a select few people, if that makes sense.


We are still working on full 2020+ support though, when that's ready all options will be available.

That's fine with me, I think me, @realprotundra and @pnw.tundra are the ones emailed about the 2020+ , getting the truck back this week with 5.29 so this would be nice along with my headers, I also have a vbox, so can measure some 0-60 empty and while towing my trailer.
