dude really, the ASVAB thing again. This isn't a d!ck measuring contest but I'll be happy to compare service records with you any time... said the 9-11 Pentagon First Responder, with a 93 ASVAB score, qualified for Nuke school decided to go tactical comms instead, 21 years (and still serving navy vet) with multiple overseas deployments.

What did you do rescue the crew from the USS Minnow?

But on that note, seeing that I've pissed off so many of you, I'll just sit in the corner and STFU now. And I'll block all the crying children. Seems to keep the clutter down off the thread anyway.

"acting like", that's subjective. Especially when you may be viewing things from about 12-18 inches from inside your own anus. ie your head stuck up your ass, or someone else's, it's 2020 I'm not gonna judge your personal habit.

Oh wow. Big man. I was in NYC at the time. Stationed on the USS Minnow. Also a first responder, but in NYC. Congrats on talking on radios...super hard job.

Like I said, I'm pissed like the rest of you. I'm just not going to keep asking stupid questions that might further delay my tune. That is all I'm saying. I purchased my tune the 22nd of August of last year (prob before that according to this email). I know what they are feeling.

Then we all need to be singing fuckin coombayah around the campfire and shit. Not telling people to not be bothered by it. I don’t think his original question was stupid, and maybe I shouldn’t talk smack because I haven’t paid for a tune, but the shit I see in here and in private conversations has me convinced that the way to get attention seems to be by poking the bear. Even if as a gentle reminder (which it seemed was the original message - a quick, hey how’s it going. He didn’t seem irate).

@KevinK you know what else isn't smart, coming on a public forum, running your mouth, not knowing anyone on here, trying to start sh!t with members who not only have been here for years but actually contribute to the betterment of the tundra community by helping people and developing things people need. But yeah I mean that's a tactic too, sure to make friends and get help when you need it.

I disagree, but respect your opinion. What I've seen by poking the bear is for folks to be told to send back their devices as OVTuning is unable to meet their expectations. What I'm trying to do, probably like an asshole, is to keep people from bitching and complaining in hopes that my tune is finally developed and I can say "yeah, this was worth the wait" or just say no it wasn't, and buying HPTuners.

He didn't seem irate, but rather asked a question that didn't seem like it had/had any validity to the tunes that we have available (some of us with the capability of gear lock and direct shift).

What I will say is that most of us knew that this was BETA. We can't be bothered by that. We can be bothered by the timeline that was promised to us (31JUL) after much bitching from OVTuning about shutting down updates until then.

From now on, I'll sit in the corner and STFU.

Poke the bear boys, poke the bear.

A little of this and a little of that. Its pretty run of the mill.
For clarity and so people don’t assume my friends are idiots (which they completely are), a beta test is something you do with a small sampling of your intended market to get user feedback and work out the kinks. If that was the true intent of this tune, Mat should have sold like 20 -30 total and been Johnny on the spot with customer feedback and requests. As the goal would be to get his product to market and “tested”.

But if you sell hundreds of tunes, on the “premier” Tundra forum, as a one or two man show, it’s irresponsible to hide behind the term Beta. Beta is specifically to work out the kinks and issues. And assholes like Alex, while a pain in the ass, would be a true beta testers wet dream. An end user who actually uses his truck for trucky things.

But what we have here is a situation where a product was sold to the masses, under the cover of beta testing.

I have no dog in this fight because my truck runs fine and since we’re measuring dicks, I’ve spent $500 on stupider things that didn’t work. If you can’t read between the lines, I’m rich and stupid, so don’t come at me with your test scores for your Uber Military entrance exams.

Well, doesn't look like anyone is helping anyone in here today. It looks like someone had a dick comment and then a mob got here to burn down this thread.

I've been with tundras.com since Jan of 2014 and I'm member number 20. In the beginning everyone was pretty civil with each other and it actually seemed like people really did care about bettering others and the information on this forum. These days, not so much.

I get sticking up for people, but jeeze. Obviously the completion of this tune seems like it's on thin ice, and yeah I've been waiting a year for it to be done, but why come in here and shit all over the thread? Myself and the rest of the "suckers" actually want Mat to come on the thread and continue communicating with us.

I have found the code for older ECUs.
So features will be provided for all ECUS 5.7L, 07-19.

We started releasing files on July 31st, and are continually releasing them. We have actually released for quite a few. 0CJ64 issue gave a hiccup in the timeline, but we are confident it's solved and have an update we will be sending to those two guys.

To clear the confusion between our product and HP Tuners, none of the stuff we offer (gear lock, direct shift, etc) is possible with HP Tuners.

However, if you have our flash kit and want editing ability (like HP Tuners does) Then you can do so with our vF Tuner tool. This gives you access similar to that of a cobb accessport (if anyone is familiar). You have maps from cobb + their tool that allows you to view, edit, and change the tune to your liking.

Beta, not beta, etc. The tune we originally released did not have these features. Please do not ignore this fact. The tune evolved over time as we drove our tundra more and came to conclusions on things that would be most beneficial to the average driver. Those features finished in January. In August of 2019, Direct Shift and Gearlock by S mode did not exist.
We did ask the community for some time for us to digest and prepare this for files. That kind of didn't happen, and you can see from this forum about why.
Then COVID happened, and it affected us more than you'd think, due to being unable to get any hardware, we had to restructure everything we did internally, and what we offered externally.

Regardless of all of that, this is the home stretch. Features work, we are providing it for all ECUs.
And after all ECUs are released it will be available in vF Tuner for anyone who wants to dig into their tune further.
