Don't worry, I'm just as dumb as the next guy!

I guess I could attempt to grasp it once I finally get an answer! I'm thinking ill get an update before I'll get one though.

Gear lock and torque converter lock are 2 different things!

But just to be clear, stating that no one has reported on the function of their torque converter after the update, is not a concept. It's an observation.

it shifts as fast as the transmission is capable of shifting.

I am really not trying to be an ass to anyone regarding these features, but we have explained it more than a dozen times + I explained it just a few pages ago and we have a video about it.

you are not the only one who still doesn't understand how it works, or didn't understand, and at this point I don't know how I could better explain it.

anyways, we are back to releasing ECUs. We have an update for 0CJ64 as well that should fix that specific ECU ID.

Pretty simple and am an IT guy. Mine works as described. Yes, I had to read Matt’s instructions a couple of times but all good as he as stated. Shifting is so smooth. Love it compared to Magnuson tune.

@OVTune Any idea on when you might have tuning available for 2020s? Not looking for any definite timeline, just an estimate.

I understand how it worked during the discussion. I was expecting more of a noticeable difference. A few pages ago? It is painful searching for anything in over 4,000 posts. A central resource of information that does not allow anyone to post anything that muddies the water, only hard facts from you and your company.

Does it take a second or half a second before it upshifts from the time you moved the shifter? Are you expecting a firmer shift?

I can tell you, I had the OVTune on my tacoma, it still didn't drive like it should. It felt like pedal commander more than anything.

A tuner isn't going to make your truck seem like it is a whole new truck like people make it seem. That is 100 percent a placebo effect.

I can say that what I've felt, with the updated shifting (not with the newest one just released), but it does feel like a new truck. Did it knock off 5 seconds off my 0-60, no, but my expectation wasn't that it would do that. Rather I wanted to increase the drive-ability of the truck.

I'm looking forward to the direct shift. I know it's not a DSG transmission, so instant shifting isn't going to happen.

And that makes sense, but these trucks drive very well compared to their domestic counterparts.. and its little brother...

I want a supercharger on mine :D but will that happen... unlikely

I think that both the Toyota and the Nissan Titan (the older body style) are my favorite trucks that I've owned, and I've owned every brand. The Titan had everything other than JWT cams and a Level 10 transmission. I foolishly traded it for an XD with the Cummins (big mistake). Now i'm in the Tundra, and I love it, but want a supercharger or a procharger (once they're released and tested), but like you...I'm not sure I can make it happen, lol.

100% disagree. Go drive a 3rd gen tacoma from the factory and then with the tune. It’s a completely different truck.

I called my Toyota dealership and they are not seeing the ECU update. Just the dim blinker. I told them it may be a TSB instead of a recall. They said they checked there too and find nothing. Will the vF tuner not work with 0CP80?

AFAIK and understand, these ECUs are locked down until an update is done. Unless there has been another one for your particular year/ECU, you're not going to be able to do it.

This is just a hunch, and Mat might be able to tell me I'm wrong. But I'm pretty sure.
