I think you've nailed the questions many of us that bought the early flash kits and are awaiting updates on tunes. I had no expectations of this being a quick process when I first decided to purchase, but it seems the direction of what going on with the product is constantly changing and evolving. No complaints so far with the base tune I've received and hope to have an updated version soon.

Agreed...Questions you, and others above have been considering. Was hoping I wasn't the only one who felt like the homely girl at the school dance watching the new pretty girl get all of the attention :)

@OVTune Can we get an update please?

Roughly when can we expect the big update?

I'm still on a base tune. Should I datalog now and send to you for a revision or should I datalog after you send me an update?

    Thanks!

    Yes please submit logs.
I am individually updating people as I get through it.

Especially if you have a Supercharger, please submit logs.

And if you have a SC with YWF85, YWF48, I am working on those, sometimes these files are difficult to obtain (am working on getting YWF85)

This is happening to my truck. My mechanic noticed it was reading some insane amount of ethanol in my fuel and told me it wouldn't take him manually changing it. I am DAP tuned. I am thinking of going back to a stock tune as my idle is frquently erratic and I smell rich exhaust (figured some of that is normal as I dont have cats).

I’ll email you the 3ywf8500 .CUW file right now.
As I posted before, I can get any current supercharger calibration for 07-13 trucks.
Also, 3ywf4800 that you mentioned in the quoted post is an older calibration that supersedes to 3ywf8900 (same as my truck).
Let me know if you need anything else.
I’ve also sent you my cold start warmup logs on Friday, order 5199 :)

ok, I'll admit, I have zero bandwidth to search for info. Datalog, someone ping me the instructions for that. I looked at the blog/website, zero info. I guess I just drive around with the laptop plugged in?

I sent 6 files... As I recall, these were what he wanted as posted somewhere in this thread.....

    Warm idle
Normal acceleration to highway speed and cruise for a minute or two
Drive around town. Stop and go, etc
Balls to the wall, tranny shifting automatically in "D" (from standstill)
Hard pull to limiter shifting manually in "S" mode (through several gears from standstill)
Hard pull, 40MPH to 95MPH, tranny shifting normally in "D".

All files 5 minutes or less. Save and label the file after each run. Email the files.

If you haven't already bought a flash kit, you only have one option. Wait for the self tuning software.

Yes you can always flash back to it if you want to.
And if you guys want you can request to have your tune unlocked so you can edit it further (if you want to).

The Tundra and Tacoma are still our priority. This software has been being worked on actually for a very long time, since before we started tuning tundras, and during the beginning of us tuning toyotas about 3 years ago. it has just gone thorugh several rounds and bug fixes before being stable and ready.

If we are able to edit our tune, I suppose we will be able to make a copy and set it for whatever octane we would like. That would be pretty handy

Hi kinda off topic question here but has anyone tried a pedal commander with the ov tune? I’m currently on the base 93 tune and gotta say it’s a huge improvement especially for having 37s however I am awaiting a response from mat and can see he has his hands tied at the moment. So my question is for anyon running the pedal commander with tune is it even doable? Do you like the functionality of the product? I know it basically just tricks your computer into thinking your mashing the gas harder than you are for example 20% real world throttle input and the pedal commander sending 40% to the computer. I’m skeptical on how it would work with the different maps from mat(tow haul map/regular drive map). I drove my buddies dodge with one on there and it made a world of difference! I mean from occasionally chirping the tires with no pc and WOT to consistently spinnin em with half the throttle input on sport+ mode. Thanks for any info guys!

it’s not recommended to use them together.

With vf tuner you can modify the throttle inputs to your liking.

Also does anyone here have a 18 non flex fuel with the direct shift and gear lock mode on there truck I requested it from mat however I am under the impression from mat that these features are having an issue on the 18s and arent currently available? So my question here is who has em and how well does it actually work? I mean to be quite frank that was my main selling point on this tune vs dap/bullydog and not having those features is kinda a bummer atm however with that being said the base tune is still LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than stock IMO. Also I never received any data logging software in my initial email with the tunes. Can I download this on the OVTune website so I can data log? Thanks for any input!!

quick question for folks. I'm on the fence about going with 87 or 93 tune. I don't want to go with dual map because I want to have the actual Tow/haul feature due to me pulling a small toy hauler to races across the state.

How much better is the 93 tune than the 87? is it really worth the extra 50 cents per gallon? Some stations it's a full dollar difference since more and more are pumping non-ethanol 93

Don’t want to be spreading false information. But from what I understand you can either have the 93 tune flashed on your truck or the 87tune flashed on NOT BOTH (capitalization for clarity not tryna be a dick) the maps in each tune are different regardless. Example standard drive mode in the truck is one map of the tune and driving with tow haul is a different map on the same tune that changes timing and stuff of that nature. You CAN NOT have 87 tuned to standard “D” mode and 93 flashed to tow haul. You have to choose between those two. I assume you can request both tunes and flash 87 run it for a while and then flash the 93 tune (assuming you filled up with proper octane fuel) and try to feel the difference. I personally have no experience running the 87 tune from mat so I can not chime in on that aspect but I do enjoy the base 93 tune that I currently have. Hope this helps and anybody is welcome to correct me if I am wrong!

It’s not available yet. I think he was planning sometime in April for availability. I’m sure he’ll let people know as soon as it’s ready.
