Still a bit undecided, but our plans are to spend some time traveling internationally. When the kiddo gets a bit bigger we’ll decide our next move. Probably an earth cruiser or van.

 

Will be interesting to see what it goes for. I'm not selling my truck, but I also have a 4Runner overland build I think we are going to sell and get a full size SUV now with a 3rd kid on the way. I have no idea how to sell an overland rig. Maybe I'll check out BaT.

 

We thought about going that route too. Just hitting pause for now on the next rig. First time for me on BaT as well

 

I have fully loaded Wagoneer on order. Very excited. I'm assuming you have a reserve set on BaT. I'm also assuming you took the value of the truck + all the upgrades and have some idea what that number is. The question is, can you expect anywhere close to a return on investment when selling an overland rig. I have no idea. GLWS.

First time for me selling on it too, but I have heard good things. Pretty cool finds on there all around

My truck is worth more to me than anyone is going to pay me personally. If I had to put a figure on it, his rig is probably pushing $80K invested, idk. I honestly didn't do a detailed inspection to see if supercharged. That's 10K. The current bid is $20,250. Not even close to reserve. Again, I have no idea how to find the right buyer for a proper overland rig. Probably need a Truck realtor. My interest is this sale, is that I also have a 4Runner overland rig I might sell if I can convince my wife she doesn't want it anymore.

 

This will end well above the current bid. Serious bidders know not to bid along the way, it just drives up the price. The increase will happen late, probably within the last hour.

These auctions have a way of taking off towards the final bell.. and I have always appreciated the way BAT extends the auction time 2 min for every bid at the end… it’s not about who can click the link at the last second, it’s more representative of a live auction, where if the action is still in the room, the auction continues.

I would argue anything less than that is a complete steal! I’d be happy though, my intention with any used gear is to get someone a good deal on high quality gear. The truck is no different.

Buyer has to pay a 5% buyers fee (min $250 capped at $5,000) so looks like buyer just paid $78,750 for it all in! Still way less than it would cost to buy a stock low mileage 2016 + parts + labor (or your own time). Not to mention the headaches of component compatibility, shipping, tax, lead times, powder coat, and a good old fashioned shake down.
