This may have been posted before but I couldn’t find it in search.

Most vehicles have an outside temp reset button or sequence of buttons to reset the outside temp... I idle a lot at work and want the most out of my A/C so I would like to be able to get it to update but I can’t find anything about it. Says 69°F right now but it’s actually 94°f

I don't think there is a reset option but it is frustrating how slow the refresh rate is on these sensors. Seems to hold temps forever.

This was my temperature from the head unit this winter…
I know it doesn’t help, but it was pretty funny.

Yep, could have dropped temp to -1000 F easily.

    Damn close.

We didn't get out of the truck there. I couldn't find a full service gas station for someone to pump my gas, everyone was dead...

I heard it gets real cold in Greeley. Glad I'm in Aurora now.

I'm fairly certain there is a formula involved with it updating to the current temp. I agree it is very frustrating when parked in the garage and leaving the house for the first time or idling somewhere for prolonged periods of time.

For instance, my wife's Jeep states you have to travel faster than 25mph for 5 continuous minutes or faster than 40mph for 3 continuous minutes for it to update the ambient air temperature display.

All I could find in my owners manual is below, which does state it will be an incorrect reading if you are parked, the vehicle is not going faster than 12mph, or there is a sudden temperature change:

Yeah I couldn’t find it either. On my Ford you would just hit the recirculate and AC button at the same time 3 times in a row and it would update.
