so I was finally able to pull together a deal on a 18 1794 2wd Tundra. sticker was just over $50k. my final offer was $44,000 + TTL. right at 12% off list. then we went to work on the trade. 07 Crewmax 4x2 with 177k miles. final price was $10,500. that is just on the tad high side of wholesale. I had shopped it with a couple of wholesalers before going in. the kicker was how clean it was. they couldn't believe an 07 with that many miles could be so clean.

pics after I pick it up tonight.

was the price diff that much vs a 4wd? I mean the mpg is not much diff than a 2wd vs 4wd. and the resale afterwards (if ever) is always higher on a 4wd vs 2wd.

you should still have gotten the 12% off on a 4wd.

    just my thoughts ...

edit : unless they couldn't get rid of the 2wd and was trying to move it.

he may not need the 4wd. he went from 2wd to 2wd. i would have still bought the 4wd cuz its always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

4wd means more shit to break / maintain ;)

This argument is used all over the forum against “creature comforts” in cab... doesn’t it apply across the board? :D

there she blows boys! probably one of the easiest new car deals I have ever encountered. in and out in less than 30 minutes.

the reason I didn't go with the 4x4 was (a) i have about as much need for a 4x4 as a fish needs a bicycle. it's a road queen. i hadn't had a 4x4 in 20 years. besides FL is kind of flat and I ain't driving on the beach. (b) more cost (c) higher insurance (d) i'd be spending too much on upgrades.

i have nothing against 4x4's. in my younger days I lived for going off road. as I've gotten older it just doesn't interest me that much.

yes there will be a few upgrades.

this is my 6th Toyota Pickup in my life time.

Congrats; but it’s better to have and not need, then to need and not have. I can’t say my insurance went up because it’s 4WD. It probably lowered within our state.

Nice truck man! Yea, I’m on the 4WD train but you obviously don’t need it. My only reasoning would be that it will appeal to a much larger audience if you need to unload it.

But whatever, you have yourself a bad ass ride and I know you will love it. Enjoy!

yes tint is always a must with me regardless of where I am. i may be switching it over to a ceramic tint here soon.

funny but here on the coast it is actually cooler than where I grew up in Memphis. we'd come down here for vacation in the summer just to get away from the heat and humidity there in TN. we get that coastal breeze happening and it's nice.

I got the ceramics... it's nice! I didnt do any testing before and after, but it definately feels cooler - i turn the AC down way sooner.

    Beautiful truck!

I’m in FL too, and it’s so flat you’ll never need the 4WD unless you intentionally put yourself in situations where it’s needed (which is why I have it lol) :D
