Gotta agree with this. Driving up to Mt. Hood last night, it's baffling how they just left shit in the right hand lanes all throughout Gresham. We're now three days past the freeze, and they've not done a thing to work on actually cleaning up the streets to where normal traffic flow can happen. Apparently they'll just wait for the piles to just melt?

I think and this is just a thought...the city crews may be extremely busy. I know our crew had 6 guys, a dump truck, tractor, chipper, another truck at my house for just about 8 hours to clear that tree.

I have a friend that works for Lake O and he was on 12’s before the storm all the way through Monday working.

I go to work much earlier then the average commuter and I saw trucks in Beaverton also spreading and plowing. Along with on my commute home on Friday. So while there probably is debris all over it takes time to get cleaned up.

I think Beaverton has their own crews, separate from Portland. I've been up and down I-5 & I-405 in Portland and back over the Interstate bridge this week and didn't see one Portland city or ODOT truck on any of the trips.

Yeah I’m sure every city has their own public works/transportation people. I’m just pointing out that they are probably busy doing other things besides picking up peoples broken chains/pieces of wrecked cars etc. Like clearing trees and other utility work.

Know I specifically remember a few years ago Portland/Odot or whoever decided to put street sweepers on I5 south in downtown at like 8:30am. It was super fun trying to merge on to I5 in a freaking low boy with one lane and the shoulder taken up by them. Probably not their smartest move.

Hello, just sold my Tacoma and have come to the dark side, the little truck was fun but the Tundra feels like a real truck. I’m going to be prowling the Craigslist and sales posts for a white 6.5” canopy or tonneau, and maybe some wheels and tires, take-off’s would be great, I actually like the Michelin’s, the previous owner of this truck didn’t take care of the ones I have now. Just a heads up and a hello. See you all around.

    Conversation with the wife:

    Her: What are you doing?
Me: Setting up my profile on Tundras.com
Her: You’re not going to start messing around with your new truck and buying crap for it already are you?
Me (slowly closing my laptop): Uh...no...(I’m not going to buy “crap” I’m going to buy cool stuff)

Lol story of everyone one here it seems. One thing about the tundras, no big expenses in the shop for repairs usually, but there is a lot of aftermarket stuff to spend our money on to make up for it.

Conversation overheard yesterday in my house after I finished swapping out my inside door handles:

    Wife: where were you?
Me: installing the door handles in my truck.
Wife: I thought you did that last week?
Me: those were the outside handles. these were the inside handles.
Wife: WHERE do you keep finding all of these things to buy for your truck?!?
    Me: "the forum"
    Wife: the gun forum?
Me: No, the truck forum - Tundras.com
Wife: Oh... <rolls eyes and walks away>

Sad thing is she specifically asked when I was going to buy this truck - "So, it has everything you want so you don't have to go out and spend a ton of money setting it up after you buy it, RIGHT?"

Yeah, well, that was the plan...

That’s almost exactly what my wife asked me! I told her not to worry, I’m getting a Tundra, I’m not trying to make a Tacoma ride like a Tundra.

HEHE...yeah. I'm easy $5k deep into mods already in 4 months. Thankfully I've got 1) a forgiving wife and 2) some side income that has paid for it.

I’ve seen a few do that. It also depends on if you sign up for email alerts or not. If not? And no one quotes you or likes a post of yours, then it will only give you one notice and then it fades into oblivion after that. I find myself spinning through my “watched” list to look for bold topics every few days.

I don’t “Auto-watch” any threads. I’m pretty choosey about the ones I’ll follow. And even fewer get email notices (like two)...

otherwise, I’d be subscribed to every new member thread out there!

And in full disclosure, I’m on another forum that uses the same software and so I’ve learned to go through the settings with a pretty finite comb when I first join any of them any more.

what i can’t find is a way to change my subscription notifications for emails when I do subscribe. Some threads would be nice to just get a daily and others I’d like instant. Seems the only option here is in that setting for auto-subscribe

The other ones I’m on are for buying/selling :infantry:, but I’m not active on any of them for general chit chat. There’s just something different about the “atmosphere” on those sites than here...

I used to be on a few other Tundra ones, but they’ve all either disappeared or become stagnant... and I was absent for about 5 years while work had me going 70+ hrs a week.

Off-topic, but that's what we do here... if anyone is on the fence for a mortgage refinance, now is the time.
In process of closing on a 15 year @ 2.0%, no points!
Aimloan.com couldn't be any easier with some of the lowest rates and especially lender fees in the country.
