Just brewed my first porter! Finished cleaning up and relaxing with a nice IPA that was brewed about 7 weeks ago.
Damn, this retirement is hard work! lol

The porter is not gonna be much to look at for a while, probably about 3 weeks fermentation in the bucket, then another couple weeks in the bottles before it’s good to drink...F52E6E61-ED2C-41D2-819D-24EE75F9C57E.jpg
This IPA, on the other hand, is awesome, and not just for looking at!...

There have been a lot of new WA members joining the forum the past few weeks, so let’s get this thread up and running.

Start with an easy question...what are you doing for Thanksgiving?

We host for the holidays. My family is awesome, but no one steps up to take it. Not sure we’d give them Thanksgiving anyway. Looks like we’ll have a full contingency this year, so 15 people. I’ve got a 24lb bird in the fridge ready to be smoked. I’m hoping to get some time to go find some snow over the holiday weekend too, but that’s a low priority.

I’m planning to do some kind of gourmet dinner with the pheasants I brought home from hunting with @jewsNbrews
My sons family lives next door so there’s 8 of us.

Probably piss everyone off again this year and go deer hunting. Still undecided though. Definitely will be going that weekend. Got half my xmas shopping done so I am happy.

Happy Friday everyone (again). It’s been a balls-to-the-wall week so I’m knee deep in a bottle of wine, but the weekend schedule is clear. Think I’ll be doing more Thanksgiving prep, but it should be casual. What does everyone else have planned?

Weather reports are talking possibly some lowland snow next week...I’m getting excited.

That sounds fun too! And I am hoping to be by myself, so much nicer out that way. The only time I enjoy the cold!

When younger, I would spend all day in the field, no matter what the weather. I sometimes would get up under a pine or juniper tree and make a cup of tea and take a nap. Especially if the weather was bad!

That sounds awesome. The older I get, the more I love the quiet sound of nature.

Well, I cleaned gutters and washed the truck, which should cancel each other out in the Murphy’s Law of weather forecasting. But this time of year rain always wins, so I suspect it will be very wet around here tomorrow.

Well, the weatherman says that we’re gonna have snow here by next Saturday.

    I’m not believing it.

I heard a while back that weather forecasts are wrong 50% of the time, 9 days out.

I think they are about 80% accurate for the next 48 hours and then the accuracy drops off quickly. They’d probably argue otherwise, but I do find the prediction for five days from now to be more accurate of what won’t happen than reality.

Well, the snow prediction disappeared for Puget sound, but it sounds like lots of other places in the region are getting snow and/or high winds.

Just left work. Shut that computer down at exactly 8hrs today. Now to all the chores foe tomorrow.

Hoping the snow holds off for a while. It's in the mountains where it's supposed to be. Hopefully it stays there.

So many PNW folks here and yet so little chat. Who's ready for Friday!? I was hoping to get out of town, but family duties call. I've got an itch for a road trip that needs to be scratched soon. The way things are going, I should have time on my calendar in about ten years.

Family and I are going to be visiting the Portland area for 9 days at the end of this month. We really don’t have anything planned besides the first 2 days. Any suggestions on must sees or must eats?

Im ready for Friday as well...but it’s only my Monday so I need Monday to get here so I can enjoy my Friday.

I would also love to take some time off and head down to SD but that’s not going to happen well because same dilemma as you.
