Btw I thought we could pump our own gas anywhere in OR after the first of this year? Maybe that’s why the gas station attendants stare at me weirdly.

What?! I have no idea what an olan is :)

Just a few things percolating (none of which I can afford at all right now)... slightly bigger tires/wheels, under-rear-seat storage, bed liner...

I like (am comfortable with) the ride height currently so don't see a lift in the immediate future but would like the tires/wheels to be just a bit bigger. (I think I've read that I can get 20" wheels and tires without any other adjustments). As for the other two, still researching what the best option is.

Sad thing is I've already damaged :( the finish in the bed, but there's also the part of me that says that's just signs of good use.

I agree, it was the first thing I did when I could was getting my bed sprayed. Especially with the dogs.

I'm considering an ARE Z series canopy. Anyone have a recommendation for a dealer in the PDX area (or ones to avoid)?

I went to All American Canopy in Salem. I was just looking but the guys were nice and had good info and I if I do decide to pull the trigger I will probably go there. They have a store in Portland if you dare the treacherous journey down 82nd.

Thanks. All American doesn't sell ARE tops (at least in PDX), but I've dealt with them on the westside when I got a SnugTop years ago and did not have a good experience.

It’s just so busy. So many people. I went to a store and was just amazed at the amount of people. I live just north of Salem. I felt like there are more people on 82nd then in the entire city of Salem

It’s soooooo hit and miss there!! Last time in I ordered the Smoked Beet Salad.
Well I’ll give you 1 guess what they forgot on the salad????

    Yea, that’s right.

    The Fuggin Beets!! LMAO!

You’re better off hitting up Frontier Public House! It’s north a few exits, pretty consistent and some pretty good food for the prices.
No wait!! Hit 3 Peaks in Ridgefield! Because you’ll most likely see me there LMAO. It’s a kickass tap-house, on property, outdoor seating, good fish house that brings food over from next door, and always great BBQ trucks!
We’re there all the time. Cool atmosphere, kids play ball out back around the picnic tables. They built a stage this year for bands on the weekend. The owner is a great guy.

I’m actually smoking up a few racks of baby backs right now! :D
That’s a great Saturday! (Sons Bday party here in a few hours)
I’ve had this new smoker 21 days, and dinner was cooked 18 of the days on it LOL.

My experience with a Treager sounds a lot like your friends Louisiana. The temp swings were so unmanageable. I would have 60 degree temp changes and everything would always finish way hotter than planned for.
I stepped up to a Green Mountain grill Jim Bowie model. The best thing is it holds temp. There is no temp swings of astronomical proportions. It also comes with wifi makes managing over night cooks way easier (from my pillow). I would also recomend a smoke tube that will add a ton more flavor.
My wife got me the pizza oven attachment for it and it cranks out some awsome wood fire pizza!!!

I’ve heard a lot of the cheaper PitBoss models don’t stack up to the Pro1100.
But supposedly the Pro1100 is preferred over the comparable Traeger. ($650 delivered and assembled through Lowes)
I couldn’t ask for anything more really. It holds the temp very well and consistent (construction is solid). Adding a bowl of ice water smoking salmon worked phenomenally well. I laugh thinking about my Little Chief and Electric Water smoker days. Lol

I’ve been cooking everything on it. Asparagus came out the tastiest I’ve ever cooked.
It’s so nice to plop a burger on at 180 smoke, wait until rest of dinner is ready and then crank up to 450 and have it done in no time, and actually taste amazing.

I just picked some broccoli from the garden and I’m going to toss that on here shortly with the ribs.

In a week or two I will be picking up half a pig I had butchered. The butcher shop is located in Kelso WA. @Boosted4runner have any BBQ joints in that neck of the woods worth recommending.

    Oh no kidding? Cool!
3 Peaks in Ridgefield has a BBQ truck! And probably 25 killer beers on tap. Great seafood place next door too. The Halibut sandwich; is kick ass and Huge!!
As I mentioned above to Migraine - it’s a cool atmosphere, BBQ is pretty good. I did the smoked chicken legs last time for a snack and they kicked ass.
You should also try to swing into Mayer’s Meats (butcher) about 5 minutes away too. Their Brats are Fing amazing!!! Along with $6.99 bacon wrapped tenderloin steaks, home made killer jalapeño poppers, and award winning bacon! The Teriyaki Tri-Tips are tumbled to perfection as well!
My dad down in Clackamas who has been smoking foods for decades always makes a Mayer’s stop when he’s up here.

    Cool!
The negative reviews usually come from prissy Portland folks that complain about not having servers.
It’s officially a tap house, so you order beers at the bar - and can also order from the fish house next door who brings their food over. Or you just walk up to the BBQ truck in their back yard area.
Thank God I only live 5 minutes from the place, because there isn’t any place as cool and chill you can bring your kids for dinner and a few beers - anywhere else we’ve ever lived.

Thanks! We’ll see here shortly! The wife is about to murder me!
The kids all did something different for dinner so I knew I had time :D
Yes, super safe bet! There’s no liquor or anything, and pretty much is based around a family atmosphere.

LMAO!!! Thanks for having my back!

We almost killed both racks of ribs
    So she’s happy now!
Broccoli turned out best I’ve ever had. I could’ve eaten 2 lbs of it. Ribs were pretty good too. But I used too much BBQ sauce at the end.

Broccoli recipe - but I added a few ounces of the OMG Sundried Tomato oil. It’s at the NW Sportsman shows, and the entire OMG line of sauces is amazing!!!
Then I did 225 on the smoker for 15 minutes.
