I drive past uncle phil's jets on my way to work every morning. it'd be nice for him to offer us townies a lift sometime. Oregon's a big state. And most of the time those rides are just sitting there. Nice new hangar, all glass facing the road. rub it in buddy.

    I live in the Tacoma area. I'm going to need a reliable place to have my new Tundra serviced. Is there a dealership that is capable of;
fixing problems, general service, decent customer service, honest, and in the Pierce County area?

Old thread - New to Portland. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good weekend off-road drive "close" to Portland? Something my stock 4wd could handle.

I haven't been out this way in a long time but if you go out to Timothy lake which is kinda between Estacada and Hwy 26 a couple miles past Government Camp there are some timber roads around some of the camping. I am not 100% sure if they leave them open any more. Other then that there is a spot called Wildcat Mt. Road out past Sandy. There are two ways to get up there the easiest for someone that has never been there is to go east on Hwy 26 about 8 miles past Sandy on the Right there is a 76 station just after a little motel. The next road on the right is the access road. Again not sure if that is still open or not.

Now if you want to head towards the coast there is tons of stuff in the coastal mountains... Browns Camp, Jourdan Creek. They have trails from mild to pretty advanced. If you want to go all the way to the coast...another 45 minutes just outside of Tilamook is Sand Lake. As long as you know how to turn traction control all the way off, have an off road permit and a flag you will be just fine.

I am in SW Portland area.

for sure! i wasn't too sure if that would help or not. It used to be there were tons of places to go off road. Slowly they have been getting shut down either for the upcoming fire season or because people are idiots and doing dumb things that got areas to be closed for good.

ps. the off road permit is sold at almost all motorcycle stores and some stores by off road areas. It is also probably the only thing left that Oregon hasn't jacked the rate on. It has been 10.50 since they started...or at least back in the late 90's. Way cheaper then the ticket people get for not having one.

I'm moving to Oregon within a year, I retire in January. Family living in Vernonia.
Looking forward to being wet and cool. Planning to live along the coast: manzanita, wheeler, maybe tillamook.
    Want one of these:

Anyone in the Portland area know of a 100% hand car wash? Tried googling and keeping an eye out but I still can't seem to find one. Living in an apartment with no access to a hose bib and don't want to use the brushes on those quarter-fed car washes.

If you are looking for a detail then yes i do. I have a hookup. They do different packages and even hand wax and clay bar.

I'd be interested in a wax and clay bar if you wouldn't mind giving the info...Having an 18 month old and one on the way doesn't allow any time for an in depth detail. :(

A hookup sounds like it should be reasonably priced? Shoot me the info, that sounds great. Had the truck for almost 3 months now and only washed it once :anonymous:. I just refuse to take it to a place with brushes that'll beat up the paint. It needs some love.

Judging by the fish he has that should be fun. I have a buddy that we used to ride with in the dunes that decided to give up the dune life and start fishing. He bought a Thunder Jet aluminum boat and all this gear and couldn't catch a thing. Last summer Safeway had a huge ass Salmon billboard on 205. I took a picture of it and sent it to him. Told him to just tow the boat to Safeway and just pick one out lol. He didn't find it so funny.

It's all about attitude brutha, years ago I walked out on a pier s of Corpus Christi with pole, bait and bucket. Passing the only other guy out there, I asked, "how's the fishing". After an uncomfortable long pause, he said, "the fishings always good, sometimes the catchin's not so great".........true story!

Spending some vacation days the last week of July at rockaway beach, crabbing might be poor but clamming should be great. Can't wait, temperatures here have been around 115 and up for a week.

    Hello PNW Tundra buddies!

I am in Beaverton and am looking for a good shop to install some Bilstein 5100's. Does anyone have a suggestion? Not a huge fan of the huge tire dealership in town to do the work. :)

I bought a built banshee from my buddy's grandma. Went for a ride in one of their rails and my buddy rolled it like 10 times trying to side hill a dune by one of the lakes. We almost died... back in 2005/2006.
