I’ve never stayed in the lodge, but I shred the gnar up there in the winter.
It’s a neat place, lots of history.

    Just watch out for Johnny

Never stayed there myself but it’s a great place to grab a bite and a drink. If there during the day try to get a window seat looking at the mountain.

Finally made enough space in my garage (barely) and got the Setrab installed today. I meant to take a picture but I had ~ 1" clearance on both sides of the truck. I had to crawl to the backseat to get out. I initially was just checking to see if I could fit the truck in the garage. I didn't even plan on doing the install today, but with those tight clearances I didn't want to have to pull the truck in again.Install went well and it's a great kit. Hardest part was working around the lack of space.

Also got my first oil change in and switched to the fumoto valve. Sending a sample into Blackstone with ODO sitting @ 1870 miles. Feels good to get all of it done. Didn't feel like dealing with switching out the plastic oil filter cap though. Maybe next time.

Last big ticket items are the canopy (now delayed til early November) and Valhalla cat plates when they arrive. My wife keeps wondering why I've been working on a brand new truck so much. :monocle::crapstorm:

How long did the cooler install take? I’m pondering a kit but I am a bit intimidated.

Have you done a Bkackstone report before? If not, be prepared for a lot of break-in metals in the oil. I never send them a sample until after 10k miles.

It took about 5 or 6 hours. That includes multiple children interruptions, not having tools layed out and working in little to no room around the truck. Fix those issues and you could have it done in 4 or less. It's not really something you want to rush through though.

You can save time by attaching the heat exchanger to the bracket ahead of time. I'm decently mechanically inclined but am not a gear head by any means. This installation is pretty straightforward and simple and the kit is excellent. I say go for it.

I never have done a Blackstone report before. I figured there was going to be a lot of break in byproducts. I'll probably send one in at 10k too.

This time of year makes me think about moving somewhere with more sun, the older I get the more I dislike all the dark, rainy days.

    That’s funny to hear Jim,
I worked my entire career in the SW (in construction) and detest the sunshine. Both my wife and I have had numerous skin cancers removed. I love the rain, fog, mist, drizzle, snow all the time! We do have the advantage of not having to work or drive out in the weather if we choose not to, since I am now retired.

I'm retired also, and spent my entire life here in the NW. The rain just limits a lot of activities that I'd like to be doing outside, especially with my classic cars.

Yup. Their new store is looking good. Only a couple miles from the house.

Dang it have to work and have a game that day.

Anybody going to go? Might be able to bring the 4Runner at the very end.

We’ve got a pumpkin carving thing at my wife’s aunt’s house all day. I think there’s ~100 pumpkins to carve, including a few over 250lbs I guess this year.

Mostly I’ll be cuttin’ and guttin’ - prepping pumpkins for the little kids to decorate. She’s done it every year since before I was part of the family…

I bumped into one of the employees at Wally World last week (had a T Shirt on) and asked him how the new place is treating them. Said they were too crowded at last location and really enjoying it.

If I actually had to go into the office I would drive by 4x per day, but as is just a couple times per week. I like seeing all the rigs out front as I do happen by it.

The big storm was Saturday and Sunday. Another was expected last night, but it doesn’t appear to have materialized around me. My ‘hood is covered in leaves and pine needles now. Had the power blip a few times but never lost it thankfully.

Now that the house gutters and street drains are filled, more rain. Up to two inches on Thursday!

We had quite a bit of wind, my backyard is completely covered in Maple leaves and we lost power for a bit. Old trees and wind don't make a good combo, this was fatal in Preston.

Agreed, I hate to see that happen with anyone. Just pointing out with high winds and ground saturation bad things can happen. I brought out an arborist a few years ago to assess the huge maples on the edge of my property, don't want one falling on my home.

The weather has the animals kinda freaked out also. Happen yesterday. It’s the first kill I’ve heard around here, a car hit a bear about a mile from me. Driver is ok, bear and car not so. Be extra careful.

That’s a lot of pumpkins! What do you carve out of a 250# pumpkin? Have fun!

Yeah I drive by the new shop on the way to/from work. Their old shop wasn’t that far either. Office was small but what they had crammed into that warehouse was impressive! Haven’t gone in to the new shop yet. I don’t need the temptation.

This is what moved me to bring in the arborist, I was lucky it fell away from the house.
