I'm shopping for new(bigger) tires and wheels and wondering if I could expect to recoup any cost from my current OEM wheels.

The tires are Hankook Dynapro ATM 265/70/16 all terrains with around 12K miles on them. I've had them rotated every 5K at Discount Tire. They still have excellent tread left.

The wheels are the basic 16" OEM starfish design that were so common on the first gens.

Pics show before and after plasti-dip.

Could I expect to get any money for these?

Tires n wheel sales are about finding someone who wants them or needs them. I haven't had much luck in the past.
See what similar tire/wheel sets are listed for.
Thinking start at $500 and lower as needed.

    good luck

i wouldn't expect but a couple-few hundred for the set of 4. Tires aren't bad, but wheels are only worth a hundred to 2 i would think from what i've seen in the past. sometimes it's worth to pull tires off and sell separately too. more of a range of people to sell to instead of selling to them, with them knowing they'll have to pay to have the unmounted. for the set of wheels and tires...i'm thinking $400. Don't go off of strictly me though for sure. I can be(and kinda hope) I'm wrong and you could get more. GLWS

Pull the rims off to expand brands that these will fit on. List for $350 and be lucky to get $300ish...just sold my Michelin LTX MS for $300 with only 2k miles...sat for about a week and a half
on Denver market... try to sell rims for $100...

Tires I can't speak to, but a rust and corrosion free set of those OEM wheels are actually hard to find (and trust me, I was looking for a while in Alberta, BC, Washington, Idaho and Montana).

In Canada, the wheels alone would likely fetch $100 EACH if there was no corrosion and that plastic dip was removed. In TN, not so much.

Something to consider as you post for sale: Tacoma owners often look for those wheels too. So list as both Tacoma and Tundra.

I figured I would leave that up to the buyer. Black wheels are pretty popular right now. At least that way they have the option to choose.

Your wheels your rules, but I personally wouldn’t buy anything plastidipped as I want to see the condition of the material underneath...I agree they’re popular, but to the small percentage of guys who mod, the other 95% of Toyota owners is who you need to be reaching for max $ and they want oem...just my $.02...

I buy and sell a ton on CL, especially Toyota gear...

Suggestion: remove it. If those rims are clean and rust free show it. Otherwise the assumption is that black is hiding something.
