I guess the Platinum has it standard and the Limited it's an option. But has anyone modified or know what would be involved with making the SR5 trims have the one touch up and down on front windows? Is it as easy as replacing the door window switch or more complex than that? Just seems like a 2019 vehicle this would be standard, but I guess not.

I think it’s more complicated than door switch.

I think the motors have to have pinch sensors to keep from closing on arms/fingers

Yeah my 12 year old Honda has it for both windows. I have called 2 Toyota dealerships and neither have a clue. Not even a NO to just to make me go away. Thinking of checking with a high end audio installer and see their take on it.

Ill evaluate the cost if worth it, just trying to see what is involved and even possible, without going nuts on a wiring harness. Need to replace a switch, whole motor and actuator, additional wiring. Cant imagine it being too complex as to make a Platinum or the Limited have it as an option.

    Not nearly enough room here!
Yep, you could certainly do that, or you could log-onto "Auto-Loc" and have a pair of modules shipped to you for under $ 62.00 during their sale:confused:

I looked on the web site. Not sure what all I need to do this to my 2020 CM rear bed window to make it one touch auto as well. My 08 Sequoia has that from the factory and I can't believe this 2020 limited doesn't!

Toyota engineers must think like me. You mean you can't hold your finger on the switch for a couple of seconds. About the only time I roll mine all the way down is running the ranch roads when I am hunting. I think there are a lot more important things lacking on the Tundra. Also in Toyota's thinking they can sell more Platinums to people that need silly features like auto up windows.

If I'm like many of the other Tundra moneyspenders here, it's that we are always looking for things to mod on our Tundras, even if they aren't needed. It's more like a hobby. Not needed, but gives you something to do and a reason to burn through perfectly good money that might otherwise end up being spent anyways on the third set of pots and pans or little doggie outifts or a seventh high-end purse or....well, you get the point.:boink:

While I don't disagree with you, it is hilarious that my base model 4Runner from 2000 had that inherently but a brand new truck doesn't. Nothing like taking a step back on technology that was standard decades ago.

Not to defend Toyota here or anything but the reason the option went away on some newer models is because they are now required to have pinch sensors which cost more money. Years ago when people weren't so stupid and there weren't so many lawsuits these sensors were not required. I still think Toyota should be going the extra mile to give us auto up and down on all trim packages but Toyota uses these features as motivation get customers to spend more money on higher grade packages.

My 2000 RX300 had auto up & down with pinch sensors on all four windows and the sunroof. I did not realize how convenient it was until I got my Tundra without it.

This exact question pops up from time to time, heck...I've even asked it here myself. Sadly there's no easy or cheap OEM solution and it's not as easy as swapping switch modules, IIRC.

Not sure why this was omitted from the Tundra, my 2014 SR5 4Runner had all 4 auto up/down with pinch sensors, as did my 2007 Camry Hybrid, but not my 2019 Tundra (more expensive than both vehicles combined). :annoyed:

Probably the only thing I dislike about the Tundra. Then I remind myself why I bought a Tundra over the other choices that had those "features"...reliability.

    Trade-offs I guess...
