Im close to pulling the trigger on SCS SR8 Wheels. They are +25 offset. I have a bone stock suspension set up. I'm running 275/70/18 KO2's currently on factory off road wheels. I'm worried to death that they will rub and annoy me but I'll get over that. My real question is since the tires will stick out a little less than 2" with these wheels, does the truck handle different good or bad? Also, since these wheels are 3lbs ish lighter, does that help out with MPG, power etc. I'm going to analyze this to death and I need someone to tell me I'm over thinking this and they are just wheels!!

You're overthinking this. They're just wheels.

I have the same setup. SCS Ray 10’s on 275/70/18. You will lose a little mpg going with the bigger tires but not too bad. Ride change isn’t significant. You will feel a little difference because of the tires. Shouldn’t rub much at all, especially if you remove front mud flap. There’s a fender liner mod you can do as well which completely eliminates the rub.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve been running the bigger tires on my stock rims so I’m used to that. I was more curious about if it handles different with 2” of offset. Is it harder to park or make tight turns that sort of thing.

Ive run a similar combo. You should be fine. The turning radius does decrease a little

I doubt you’re wheels are gonna stick out 2”, with a +25 offset, unless you’re meaning 1” on each side and you’re adding that up to 2”. I’ve been looking into 0 offset and that’s close to 2” each side. You won’t notice the slightest difference with a +25 other than appearance.

I found a calculator online and I thought it was just under 2”....each side.

Could be...I’m toying with +0 and spoke with someone in here running the same wheel and his measurement was 2”...I could be wrong...

Makes sense. 25 mm is 1 inch and the wheel is an inch wider on the outside of the hub. And has less backspacing overall

Bet it will handle corners better. Or not. Hell, I don't know. Wheels are the one topic that everyone likes to expound upon, but you never really know until you install them. I say do the best research you can, make the decision, but be prepared for the fact that something may not go as planned. I mean, they are just wheels. o_O

It absolutely corners better. I went from 18x9 +20 wheels back to stock and instantly felt the corners get worse

Changing from stock wheels (+60) to the SR8s (+25) will push each wheel out ~1". The 275/70's are about 1" taller than stock. If there is rubbing it should be minimal and can be corrected by removing the front mudflap, pushing the front liner forward (if needed), and worst case scenario would be modifying or removing the mudflap behind the tire.

Is there a mud flap mod? I just removed mine, but would really like them on. I'm getting a rub on the driver's side. Running 285/65/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers.

Did you have any rubbing up front?

Slight rubbing at full lock, bent the factory skid plate back a little with a rubber mallet and pushed in the plastic fender well with a heat gun and it eliminated it

Easy fix did you have tires on before or after the wheels? Reason I ask is I have tires on already no rub and plenty of room waiting on wheels to arrive.

Put them on at the same time, went from the stock 255 and 18” steel wheels to the 275/custom wheels

I have Ray10s, +25. 275/70/18. Remove front mud. Cut the bulge on back mudflap (front wheel wells). Zero rub.
