I'm just wondering what you guys use for oil in your Tundra. I'm coming up on my first oil change in 700 miles. I do like Mobil 1 synthetic. I was toying with the idea of trying Royal Purple.

I read a lot of positives about Amsoil....I went with that along with their filter. Changing the oil every Dec.

Wally Wurl Mobil1 Syn is selling for $22 a jug (5qts) and will deliver to your door.

Mobil1 (website) is offering a $10 rebate PER 5qt. jug (up to four jugs). Follow directions.

    $22- $10= $12 per jug!

    To much to list:)
After warranty oil changes I have used Pennzoil pure synthetic religiously and haven’t used anything else since I can remember. The wife and I have never had any mechanical troubles due to engine oil. The wife drives massive amounts one vehicle had over 200,000 another one had over 170,000. Just one opinion. Good luck :)

Any of your name brands will be just fine. I am using Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w-20 right now. Was-Mart has it on sale for $22 and Mobil has the $12 rebate going on per gallon. Comes out to $10 a jug fora top tier oil. You can get 4 gallons per household with the rebate. However, have your grandparents, in-laws purchase 4 gallons and submit the rebates. I have 12 gallons in my garage right now......

Penzoil, Valvoline, Castrol is as good as any of your expensive boutique oil.

Amsoil does make pretty good oil and probably the best out of the boutique expensive oil. I know a lot of people that run it and ran it myself a little here and there. Not sure it is even as good as Mobil 1 but it is still a quality oil.

Mobil 1 or Valvoline Synthetic. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the synthetic oils out there

You can’t go wrong with big brand names, but I have been using Mobil 1 synthetic for over a decade, never had an issue.

Using Mobil 1 0w20 EP in my ‘19 now. With the rebate, it’s a deal.

My brother started using Mobil 1 in his 2006 Dodge ram at my suggestion. It got rid of the "hemi tick" in his engine.

With the Mobile 1 EP, how often do you change your oil? Surely not 15k, right? I'm still under the 2 year free dealer changes (and trust my dealer to do it right), but only have one left. Don't you still have to change every 5k to avoid warranty issues?

Amsoil Signature Series. I was Changing every 5000 but the last coupe of changes I sent a sample of the used oil to blackstone labs for an analysis. They told me everything looked great and to push to 7500... sent them another sample after 7500 during an oil chnage, and they said to push to 10,000. After 10,000 ill send them a sample to make sure everything is good. I cant see my self mentally be able to handle going more than 10,000 between changes.

I use amsoil in everything I can... except transmission.

I’m planning on 7,500 mile intervals. My truck calls for 10,000 mile intervals. This number is where I feel comfortable.

Now watch this, people will dismiss that report because they know better than Blackstone. Mark my words.

Have you actually received your rebate? I don’t see Walmart listed as a “participating retailer”...anybody get the rebate via a Walmart purchase?

I bought mine from Walmart about 6 weeks ago and have not yet received my paper check.

I would tell you that I have done this before with Walmart and have received my paper check in the past. Then, as you note now, they were not listed as a "participating retailer" by myself, along with many others, did indeed get their rebate.

Thanks, I would assume they would have let you know by now if Walmart was not and your rebate was invalid. I also found a blurb online of somebody stating they called Walmart to verify participation and they ARE...for what that’s worth

I literally got my rebate last night. Got $48 in my email. It is a lot quicker if you let them send your rebate electronically to your email. If you elect the check it will be 6 to 8 weeks. It took 3 weeks to get mine.

Shell will do the same thing at some point in time. I will run either Mobil 1 Advanced Cuel Economy or Penzoil Platinum just depending on the sale. Have not paid over $12/gallon for either over the last 3 years. Between 3 vehicles we put on about 85k mikes per year and it gets changed every 5k Miles. I go through about 20 gallons a year so the rebates are significant.

Lol, I like the comments they provided.

As for my oil of choice, Pennzoil platinum recently. Mainly cause its priced pretty good.
I'd defo run Amsoil if it was cheaper and more convenient to find.

Mobil1 as go to but will also consider name brand if price is much different from a sale, eg valvoline or Castrol. Always full syn even on vehicles that don't call for it. Change every 5k regardless. Never had a problem w engine on vehicles 20 years plus I own. Of course vehicles have a strong pedigree to start, Toyota Honda...
