After 7 weeks of waiting I excitedly picked up my 21 trd pro last week only to have my front passenger window not able to be put down by my driver side control and the button started blinking blue. Took it to the dealership to which they said it was a lack of proper set up on their part pre delivery and they had to do a quick reset which they did and it was fine. Few days later problem comes back, took it back in, Toyota field guy goes there and says it’s the window motor.

I left Ford for promises of reliability and this is insane. Truck is a week old a window motor is bad? Has anyone experienced this? I have no confidence moving forward especially possibly dealing with cam tower leaks and with my luck Will happen just out of warranty.

There have been some issues here and there with new trucks. Most people seem to attribute it to being built during covid.

I have a lot of concerns going forward this won’t last if they can’t get a window motor right 200 miles in. Hopefully either I’m
Wrong or Toyota will care enough to tack on a few years and extend my warranty to ease my concern

    Should be replaced under warranty.
No, they will not “tack on a few years” of extra warranty.
    No manufacturer would.

Of course it’ll be replaced under warranty, Things a week old with 200 miles. It shouldn’t be happening this fast. Does not give me a good feeling on my first Toyota. If I wanted electronic issues I would have gone with the at4 in a 6.2

    Have they denied your claim?
    Have they blown you off?
    Have they misrepresented anything?

Until any of these things happen, it’s only a warranty thing.

Did you know Ferrari’s have warranty claims?

its a vehicle manufactured on a production line.
The window motor itself is made on a different production line.
    Sometimes cogs break.

    Is it a headache?
    Yes.
Is it representative of the brand?
    Not really.

I feel ya man. It sucks buying a new vehicle and something like this happens.

I purchased my Duramax and under 1000 miles for sure the ABS speed sensor went bad. Felt just like you….”oh here we go!”

I was in some pretty deep snow…so that might not have helped. To date, this has been the most reliable truck I have ever owned…and I work it hard.

Hell, I even picked up a nail in the tire on the way home from the dealership. I was sure it was cursed.

It’s ok we’re not going to see eye to eye.

I understand what you’re saying but you either don’t understand what I’m saying or are choosing not to understand the frustration and cause for concerns that have arisen.

You’re saying because one component failed, the entire truck is unreliable. We all get it. It is just a completely unreasonable position to take.

Oh, Please !!!!!! Regardless of who builds it, it will one day break. We as a collective choose Toyota for their reliability. Get your truck fixed and realize this isn't fantasyland.

Dude just give it time. These trucks are reliable. Don't let this make you over think future issues. Otherwise sell it and go get the AT4

In the wisdom of Aaron Rodgers "relax"

Unfortunately, these things do happen and ai have never heard of your problem so it must be a fluke.

We understand exactly what you are saying. I get it and it does suck. I guess at this point only thing you can do is sell it and go buy a new Ford Powerboost. Give that 6 months and then report back here how that is treating you.

I’ve already turned down the offers to buy from a few dealerships pre pick up. As funny as it was they offered me 57000 to pick it up and drive it over to them as they’re selling for around 62000 by me. No go. Like I said I love
The truck. I bought it over the at4 and the raptor because I liked it more but the reliability is what sealed it for me.

Hopefully this is a fluke but we’ll see if the cam tower leaks start after warranty I will be a lot more angry.

A year ago my work finally got me a very very high end Keysight PSA Spectrum Analyzer. With configured options....>>>$168K. Keysight makes very reliable high end test equipment. This new unit had an internal 10 MHz Frequency Reference failure out of the box. A critical failure. Sucked. Under warranty. No drama. Sent it back for warranty repair. Never had another issue. Shit happens.

Sorry to hear about the failure. Glad to hear it worked out. Here’s to hoping I end up the same way and never see the dealer again amigo

@timmyKGB if it makes you feel any better I had my 2019 Tundra fuel pump replaced under warranty for a fuel pump recall and then A few months later Toyota repainted my entire truck due to a paint defect also under warranty (there’s a thread here about that), All before 20k miles on the truck. Much more concerning stuff than a window motor so I think you’ll be just fine.

First turn signal off the lot on my 2019 popped a bulb.

hilarious having to drive right to parts store within first 5 miles.

thought truck was cursed but has been good since.
