Off-roading with a sway bar?

Will I destroy my new truck? I doubt it - and I am not going to be climbing rocks, just some mud, rough-plowed fields and some wooded terrain - but just want to have the benefit of hearing from all you.

 

Should be fine if not difficult terrain. From what I've read on this forum, it does minimize your suspension's travel a bit. But based on your description of roads you'll take, I believe you'll be just fine. Experts will chime in soon . . .

 

I know I can just take it off too if absolutely necessary.

 

If it were my sway bar I would take it off before any 4x4ing. My .02

Is anyone aware of any speed disconnects? Not that it is terribly time-consuming to take off a few bolts.

 

I don't think it would hurt if you weren't doing anything that's considered "wheeling"

Sounds about what I do every once in a while on hunting trips. (I don't have one but if I did, I wouldn't worry too much about it)

Not sure which sway bar has a quick disconnect but I know TRD doesn't.

Yeah. should be fine. What you describe is exactly the kind of "wheeling" I (and I dare say many of us) do. When you start wanting to hang a wheel, then yeah, definitely should unbolt it.

 

Nope! I never got around to installing my rear bar and then I eventually sold it, haha. I took my front off a long time ago, too.
