Hey guy I've been researching all around and cant really get an answer. I have a 2020 pro i wanted to 275/70/18 over the stock 275/65/18. It give it just 1 inch lift, but I'm going to off-road lite to medium trails. Has anyone ran 275/70/18 and actually off-road. I dont want a lift kit and no can answer if the coachbuilder kits are any good off-roading. Nothing extreme but i currently have falken wildpeak at3w 295/70/18 and they rub. Im getting rid of them. Thx crew

Did you remove the front spats? Those dinky little mud flap looking things in front of the wheel well can come off and improve tire clearance. I think your tire size should work, just try taking them off and report back.

I run 275/70/18. BFG K02.. I have done everything from 4-low rocks and obsticles.. to high speed runs up and down sandy washes... no rubbing at all...

Only problem i ever had was not tire related.. folded the passenger rear mudflap back on a rock.. and the exhaust melted it off..

    275 or 295?

You have quoted 2 different sizes.

I suspect if you stuck with 275/70/18 you would be fine. 295/70/18 is pushing it, as you have seen.

This is what I am referring to as well. You mention different sizes.

@BravoDeltaRomeo right now i have 295/70/18. Im going back down to 275/70/18. Just wanted to see if anyone had done any off roading with 275/70/18. From what i see, 295 is not going to be ideal. I posted a picture above

    Gotcha.

Plenty of guys run 275/70/18. I just ordered a set of Falkens in this size (I don't offroad), but guarantee that some guys do.

I see no reason why you couldn't off road with them and have full lock with no rub.

Clearer. Yeah, common tire size for sure on the pro without rubbing since you have the front leveled with the Fox suspension.

FWIW, that rubbing is only at full lock, and it's pretty rare you're ever running at a full lock turn for very far or very fast. I had the same rub with GY Duratracs in 275/70R18 on my 2008 because of the bigger side lugs and had those tires on for 80,000 miles without any long term problems (ran for another 200k miles after that with a variety of different tires including 305/65R18 KO2s, but by then I had added a 3/1 level kit).

I've got the same Falken 295/70's on my truck, and can see where they have touched the sway bar on a full lock turn. The only time I full lock turn is in my driveway when I back out to leave in the morning. I'm not worried about it... But that's my $0.02.

Yes it only rubs at full lock. It my own fault for going that big and wanting to off road my 20202 pro. I've talk toba few people that said if i wanted to run 295/70/18 and off road it better if i lift my truck an extra 3 inch. I want to retain my fox shocks after all it is a perk with the pro. So today im going back down to 275/70/18 and so i won't have anything to worry about.

You will get plenty of utility out of 275/70R18's. In 6 sets of tires on my 2008 over 298k miles, I ran that size for all but two sets (the factory originals, and the 305's), and had that truck everywhere that I wanted to take it (and a few I wasn't so sure). Personally, I'm on the fence about the 295's and so I'm giving them a go for this set and will make a determination from there. The best thing about having a Tundra is that I'll have plenty of miles in front of me to decide what I like best!

check, out this lift for the pro https://westcottdesigns.net/product/fox-trd-pro-lift-kit/

they run 35’s and 295’s with this lift.. keeping stock shocks... cheaper than new tires.

My god this is so attempting.... why did you show me this???? hahaha, I've decided that I'm not going to lift my PRO and keep it all stock. Besides the 1 inch lift from the 275/70/18 tires. The more I play with ride height and bigger tires, the more issue's I've been running into.

I got the 275/70/18 on and took off the 295/70/18.. my god my tundra pro was so smoother and lighter again. Felt so good to full lock and not have to worry about rubbing. Makes we wanna go back down to 275/65/18 lol. Jk im very happy and thanks for all the reply.

Totally agree with you on the improvement of the driving experience...
Replaced my KO2s this past week. They came with the Tundra and were 285/65R18s... a stiff, rough ride.
Switched to Continental Terrain Contact H/T 275/70R18s.
Wow...Feels like I am driving a smooth Cadillac now. Steers easier, quieter going down the road...wish I had done it sooner.
    Enjoy your new tires!
