Yesterday I installed the OEM Audio Plus upgrade system in my truck. I have a 2018 Limited Crewmax with the JBL audio, so I bought the upgrade kit for that, which includes a subwoofer with a dedicated amp, 4 tweeters, an acoustic correction plug for the amp, a gain control knob for the sub, and two wiring harnesses. The install took about 6 hours. I'm very satisfied with the system, it was an easy and very clean install. My music sounds much cleaner and clearer, and the bass isn't muddy anymore, it's very appropriate. I won't explain the install to you as there's a very detailed PDF here: http://bit.ly/TCMJUP_S2_PDF. I had two problems, one being the amp ground cable being too short to reach the stock ground location on the C pillar, so I just sanded down the bolt area on one of the sub brackets and put it there. Worked fine. The other issue was the wrong type of connector on the acoustic correction filter, but the wiring was correct, so I cut a little notch in the connector where it was supposed to be with my Dremel, worked great. I put the gain control knob in the center console box because it has a bright LED, and placed it so that it illuminates the box. I ran the wire for that along the factory location by the doorsill, under the driver's seat carpet, under the center console back to the panel with the 12v lighter. Ran it up through the hinge hole into the box. Their customer service is also fantastic. Very quick and helpful.

Yup. Just have to take off a few panels and remove the rear seats, it's all plug and play. Looks like it was done from the factory.

Two questions...1) It looks like you installed the gain control knob upside down (assuming to illuminate the storage compartment) - How cumbersome is making adjustments with it mounted this way? 2)Any reason for the black (instead of red) wire with the inline fuse running to the positive battery terminal? Just seemed weird to have a black positive wire.

Looks like a good simple option for upgrading the poor JBL system (I still have the stock JBL in mine). :(

Finished mine up a few weeks back (i went with the dual sub option) and i could not be happier. Did you go with the "signature sound" or use the new "pure energy" plug?

The wiring plug that runs to the amp itself. Mine had two plugs to choose from, one labeled signature and one labeled pure energy.IMG_1684.jpg

I have been looking at this system for my 19 Trd pro thinking about the 2 sub set up very pricey little over 2k I like that is plug and play last thing I want is a sounds shop hacking up my wiring just wanted to know how is the bass is it definitely noticeable?

Its true that it isn't cheap, yes the bass is much much better! but more over its like this.....before the install when you turned the stereo up it was all muddy and more over once you moved the fader to the back of the truck it was like all the sound dissapeared. Now the sound is extremely clear, the mids and Bass aren't muddy and best of all I can hear my radio with all the windows down! I went with this option also because it does not void the warranty and is fully returnable to stock if one wished.

I tried both and liked pure energy better. I didn't really see an increase in bass, but it was much cleaner than signature. This plug is accessible with the seats in place as well so it's easy to change

Not cumbersome. Very easy. Good catch on the black wire - I didn't do that. I think it's the way that the factory added in the immobilizer or something else that came with the Limited Premium package. Also some wire taps added from factory in the the wiring in the kick panel can be seen in on of my pics, I didn't do those.
    Agreed!

Nice setup! This kit interests me but yeah a bit pricey. Question for anyone who has done this install, how's the amp performing? Does the amp add any juice to the door speakers too or just the sub(s)? I used to be able to MAX volume with the windows down, after upgrading, how high is the volume with windows down, 75%?!

I have the OEM Audio+JBL enhancement for my 1794 (I got the dual sub option which I would recommend for anyone going this route). Its a huge upgrade to the factory JBL, as others have said it cleans up the muddy sound, adds relatively deep bass and overall sound quality is increased 10x. Mine did not have the signature/pure energy options so I can't speak for that , overall its given me what I wanted in a plug n play package.

I opend up the subwoofer control knob box and ditched the bulky housing and crazy bright blue LED. I then drilled a small hole in my center console and surface mounted the knob, clean and easy to get at. My experience has been that minor adjustments to the bass (depending on the music genre) are nice to have easily at hand.

Did you end up getting a system? I had an OEM A+ in my Tacoma and working to get a system for my 2020 Tundra CM. I'm in Portland.

How did you run the wire of the control knob to the center console?

I ran the sub level under the door threshold from the rear of the cab, then under the driver seat carpet. I was fished it under the center console from the driver side. If you remove the shifter console you will have full access to that area. Then choose a location for the sub level.
