What mods has everybody done to change their factory halogen fog lights? Looking for a easy yet effective mod that doesn’t break the bank or require fancy wiring. Post your before and afters if ya have them!

Headlight Revolution makes a great LED replacement bulb for the fog lights... I don’t have any night time photos, but trust me, a world of difference over stock. Kind of a PIA to get to on our trucks, but they are plug and play since it’s just a bulb.

I did the Lamin-X film in yellow. Once I do some more mods, I’ll probably switch to orange.

I replaced mine with morimoto led lights. Not bulbs. Full replacement. They can be found around $100.
Toyota also makes OEM LEDs but are closer to $200+.
Both are plug and play, no fancy wiring

That looks good! Able to get to it without having to take the front bumper apart?

I have 2018 LED headlights too, love them.

First I tried putting some nokian 3000k yellow halogens in , they looked good but were still very dim.
Second pic is with morimoto xb LED fog lights

Those look awesome! I have the 2019 Pro headlights now and looking to finish out the front with led fogs. I’m liking the looks of the mori ‘s

Install was easy, I turned my wheel all the way out. Removed a piece of fender liner and reached in from behind, the stock lights ,and morimotos are held in by one screw (I added some zip ties to reduce shaking). And the wires just plug into the factory wiring. Each side too about 15 minutes.
Install is the same for 2018+ OEM LED fog lights.
Some trucks, I believe with metal front bumper caps, you can actually remove the whole fog assembly from the front with a little prying. This is even easier

The OEM LEDs are better than that morimotos for sure, but are double the price which I couldn't justify. The headlights are plenty bright so I didn't need a ton more light. Don't get me wrong the morimotos are good, 10x better than the halogens. Some guys hate them but some, myself included, think they are great.

I agree. Personally don’t wanna dump more than about $100 into this, as I might plan on aftermarket bumper at some point in the future. This sounds like a good temp solution for sure

If you keep your eyes peeled on the buy sell threads here you can find them around 100. Also try tacomaworld, the morimoto xb also for tacos and that forum gets a lot of traffic and items sold. Maybe post a wanted to buy thread here.

I also chose the morimotos because when they are off they have that same smoked look as my 2018 headlights

You get to them from the front wheel well... the owners manual that came with your truck gives you some information on that.., kind of a PIA...

I’ll have to venture over there...I try to avoid them because I know I’ll find something I want to buy LOL. I actually have my 2018 halogens listed on there in hopes someone will buy em and do a retrofit project

Those halogens are tough to sell. I ended up needing to sell my (once very desirable) 2015 platinum lights on ebay for $265 shipped. That killed me because they would have fetched $400 before those sexy OEM LEDs came out lol
