Yes. Use peppermint oil, rat trap, dryer sheets, anything you can think of to catch that bastard. It caused $2100 damage to my wife's work truck and $1000 damage to my boat 2 winters ago. We set a trap, this is what we caught

Dryer sheets kept them away from my boat this year...peppermint oil in the truck has worked too

I had a nest in my Lexus cabin air filter housing. I pulled out several dead decaying rodents.

@louscrw has your fix for the rodents. I put a peppermint bag on my GMC since it sits so much. Another issues is nests starting fires under the hood. Had a buddy lose his turbo diesel truck last year due to this.

What's the best place to get peppermint oil bags. My wife killed a massive wood rat in one of our outbuildings last summer. My truck and my old cougar are parked most of the time. Don't want those bastards destroying my vehicles.

I bought a small bottle of peppermint oil at a drugstore. I soak cotton balls and then put 'em where needed.

We got peppermint oil from a vitamin store and soaked cotton balls.

If you remove the wiper cowl, you may find a nest in the ac intake; that's where we found ours

I had $900 damage from squirrels or rats in my 2010 Tundra under the hood where they ate the wire harness near manifold so I put 2 socks filled with cayenne pepper and then tied off, then hung them on each side of the hood pistons. I will try that again on my 2017, where do you get the peppermint oil and when you soak the cotton balls do you hang them or leave them around the areas under the hood?

I just stick 'em in the engine bay where they won't fall out. Goole search: Bed bath & beyond, Target etc...
