Anybody going to be in the 4 corners area around Tuesday- Wednesday next week?

I have to make a run up to Montrose CO this weekend and hope to take Tuesday and Wednesday to meander my way back home.

Wouldn't mind meeting up with a fellow forum member while goofing around up there.

On my way! This was right by Globe AZ. Our above average rain this year has wildflowers blooming everywhere.

I'm never going to make it to Colorado if I keep this up.

Well, even with all the distractions I eventually made it to Montrose, took care of the business I needed to take care of, and headed west again.

Poked around out by Needles Overlook for part of the morning but the plan was to get down to Valley of the Gods by about 4pm.

    Down by Ridgeway CO

Left the Needles area and trucked on down to Valley of the Gods.

I decided I needed to get back home sometime Tuesday night so I got up at sunrise, made some coffee and oatmeal, snapped a couple pics, and packed it up and hit the road.

Moki Dugway. I'm not a fan of heights so that was pretty crazy.

Went and checked out Goose Necks State Park since it was on the way out.

Monument Valley (yes, I'm in the wrong spot for this iconic shot but there were throngs of people down there where your supposed to take the shot so this would have to do. Besides, I do have one from the "right" spot but that's from a trip about 10 years back.)

So, that's it for that trip. Such an amazing area and I can't wait to get back up there. Capitol Reef and Canyon Lands will be next on the list

    Thank you both.

    Thank you Sir.

I had asked him a couple of times, wanting to get out to take some pics, but he was pretty unresponsive. He may have had a bit too much to drink. o_O

I have property off of Hwy. 191, between mile marker 329 and 330, close to NM border. Were you anywhere close to Saint Johns, AZ?

Just a bit west of there. Going up I went Tucson to Globe to Show Low to Holbrook and on up from there.

Not having any "real" schedule I did manage to avoid any/all interstate travel except for the last 120 miles from Phoenix to Tucson, so that was a plus.

Awesome! You'll be right there at Valley of the Gods so you may as well do that too. It's like a 16 mile loop.

I have a collection of photos I tag from whenever I enter Colorado. Might be the time of year that I tend to travel there, but I every time I see "Welcome to Colorful Colorado" the ONLY things that aren't BROWN are other highway signs.

PS, glad you had a good trip - that area of southeastern Utah is my favorite! I've camped several times in the sites where you made the photo of the Goosenecks, up on Muley Point, in the Valley of the Gods. Can't wait to get back!
