Sometimes when we have the A/C or heater blower going at low to medium low speeds it makes a humming noise. Almost like a prop airplane sound, just not loud.
    Its enough to annoy me.

Anyone have an issue like this?

Other issue I have is I can turn the fan from low to high and it doesn't put out much more air. then sometimes it cranks out the air. It has a mind of it's own as to when it wants to put out the amount of air for the setting it is on.

I had this into the dealer twice before the warranty was up and they couldn't replicate it. I took a video and they said they would need to have the problem happen while in their shop to verify.
    Dealers suck!

So has anyone had this issue? I'd like to fix it and also fix the blower speed. It's hot here in the desert and it would be nice if the A/C system got with the program and put out the amount of air selected.

    UPDATE:

here is a new video I took. You can hear the fan. I put it on a couple different speeds so you can hear it on different levels.

Regarding the noise from the blower. It sounds like the motor might be going bad, either that or some debris stuck on the blade to cause it to wobble, or there is a crack on the fan also caused it not to spin properly.
The other issue with the AC not being cold. Have you taken it in for an AC service? There might be a leak or you might simply need a recharge. When you turn on the AC does the compressor come on? You should hear and feel a slight fluctuation of the RPM when the conpressor kicked in. If you don’t hear anything you might have a sticky clutch on the compressior or something else is wrong with it. If everything checked out then it might be the computer not reading the temperature that you set properly. That would be a tough one to check. You need a fancy diagnostic tool for that. Probably another trip to the dealer.

The AC blows cold. It's just the amount of air that is random. It can be on the high or almost high setting and blow like it's on the low setting. Regardless the air is cold so the compressor and charge are fine. Just a blower speed issue.

I will check the fan for debris or cracks.

Did you find a solution to the noise? My 2013 started this today on our first day of a 10 day camping trip.

I found it. Pulled the filter and felt around in the fan. There was a leaf about the size of the tip of my finger. I would have thought the blower would pulverize it but just made a lot of racket.

I started having the same issue with my 2017 a few weeks ago. I have tried to just ignore it but once you hear it you can’t unhear it! I took the filter out and cleaned it and took the blower motor out and nothing was caught in there, I bought another blower motor and still no luck getting rid of the sound. Another issue I’ve had is when it’s too hot outside the ac will not even come on for about 10 minutes. In Az that’s a lifetime in the summer! Next step I guess is to take it to the dealer and have them charge me to diagnose the issue.

I have the same issue in my 2013 Grade. I have seen a few spongy pieces coming from the vents but have yet to locate the problem. My noise is coming from behind the glove box...

My blower motor started squawking yesterday. Humidity is high and I don’t need to recharge the system. So I pulled the filter and ensured there wasn’t debris in the fan blades. Then gave it a squirt of silicone. The noice is gone but I know something is wrong and it will go out in the future just a matter of time. I will repost when it gets noisy again and am guessing the bearing is going but probably get through the summer and into next year

It's just a pair of bushings. No roller bearings. With my Tacoma's fan motor that I had to lube once a year it wasn't those bushings that produced the high pitched chirps but rather the thrust washers that bear the weight of the rotating assembly. Wear in the shaft bushings would more likely make a rumbling sound as the shaft no longer runs true imo.

Fwiw mine does the low hum at low speed too. One of these days I'll pull it for inspection.
