When it is raining relatively good (not a mist) the wipers push the water right into the driver's side window near the mirror ... if it is on and off rain and dusty, it gets muddy and dries off on the side window!

This doesn't happen in my Tacoma so I looked and noticed that the Tacoma has a raised gasket (maybe 1/8" or more) on the sides of the windshield and provides a rain channel and water cleared by the wiper goes up on top of the car and away from the window! This rain channel thing was listed as a part of outdoor or off-road package in my Tacoma. it keeps water off of the side windows and instead channels it up and over the roof and also if the windows are cracked, the water doesn't come in.

Tundra gasket lays flat compare to Tacoma.
is there a Tundra outdoor package or do the Platinum or 1974 models have a raised gasket?
also I know there are side window shades/deflectors but do they block this water from coming in. The deflectors don't go all the way down and I see water coming from near or above the mirror area, not sure if the deflectors go that low or block the water before buying one.
btw, is it too hard to swap engines between Tundra and Tacoma? :rain:

By swapping engines, you mean putting Tundra engine in a Tacoma, right? There have been a number of people who were interested, but I have not read of single success. I am sure with deep enough pocket, anything is possible.

I have window visor and have had no problem that you describe. The visor comes down just above the mirrors as can be seen here.

Never had this problem, if it helps I don't have a pic but the weathertech visors go all the way down past mirror

I've noticed the way the water seems to hang there on the side window too. Haven't thought much on what, if anything to do about it though....

Mine does that as well, especially when I use the windshield washer. I take it as an excuse to go faster so the wind drys it. Vent visors are probably your only other option.
