I went to our local NWTF banquet last night. Lots of prizes, and lots of money spent trying to win them. I generally limit myself to spending $100 on prizes at the banquet (after my initial dinner fee/early bird ticket special). There was an African hunt auctioned off...some lucky soul got a $10000 hunt for a $500 bid. Nobody was bidding on that. I just have no desire to hunt Africa..not sure why.
Anyhow, I played a plinko game (which my son in law was running)...$20 to drop 3 discs. The number your disc landed in was the number of tickets you got for the drawing. I didn't do too good, and got 15 tickets. Well, it only takes one to win, and I won a new Winchester SXP Longbeard turkey shotgun. Looks like my Mossberg will be moved back a space in the gun safe!

Congrats on the new shotgun. I read on another forum that the Africa hunts are still very expensive even after winning a prize. Apparently there are a lot of extra expenses that are required. Still a nice prize for someone who was planing on going anyway.

If you ever want a great turkey choke check out Indian Creek shooting systems. I used to use my 870 with a full turkey choke and was good then bought a Benelli SBE II and put the Indian Creek choke in it WOW.
