    Hello Everyone,

I've been browsing this forum for a while and I'm stuck in deciding which trim should I get in order to make my phantom Tundra into a real one. Right now, I'm wondering if anyone knows the dealership climate around the DFW area whether or not the dealers are willing to match the price on Kelly Blue Book. These are the trims that I'm interested are listed below:

    1) SR5 = The most affordable with Financing Options. Can't beat the 0% - 72 month that seems to only be available in this trim.
    2) Limited = Only about $1500-2000 more but I like the sensors that are available in this trim. Not too sure about the financing Options.
    3) TRD PRO = It's the dream, but I know that dealers are not going to be willing to negotiate and that financing options are limited so this one will most likely be out of my reach.

If you guys don't mind sharing that information with me via replies or direct messages that would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the awesomeness in this thread guys. I look forward to reading your responses and I hope to make a contribution to this awesome community.

I purchased a Limited last year because it was the “sweet spot” across the trims. It had just enough of the creature comforts I wanted (leather, heated seats, etc) but still allowed me get the options that are hard to find, or unavailable, in higher trim packages (primarily the TRD Off-road package and chrome bumpers). My dealer was much more willing to deal on price for the Limited...he told me most people wanted either the SR5 or the higher trim lines.

In my personal experience, I went with what I could afford, a SR5, and then as I have the money build it out to look like a Pro. Just installed the Pro grill today. I don’t much care about missing out on interior comforts, as I’m a barebones kinda guy.

Welcome from CO. You're going to hear about all of the models. Some will say, should have, could have and would have. Get what you like and can afford. You already know you're going to start modding.

I bought from Nalley Toyota in Roswell, GA. The only Toyota delayer I’ve found in the metro Atlanta area that didn’t make me feel like they were doing me a favor by selling me a truck.

get your limited... and if you are willing to pay pro price then get a platinum or 1794 and get your moneys worth. I wouldn't give up a limited features for pros abscense of features and presence of price.

many on here have SR5 buildsthat would easily out do a pro and saved themselves the price gouging markup.

    Welcome from SE PA!
Like @Larmand said, I don’t plan on any mods so I got the 1794. If I were going to mod it, I would have gotten an SR5 and gone from there. The dealer definitely didn’t want to give me much of a discount on it so I beat him up as much as I could on my trade-in. In the end, I got a fair bottom-line price.

I have a 2018 Sr5. Love it. Also owned a 2012 Sr5. Loved it also. Like another one replied, I’m kind of a bare bones guy. I use it as a Truck! If you go with a new Sr5, one upgrade I would get is the oem led headlights. The standard halogens are woefully inadequate, bordering on unsafe in my opinion. Sloan

This is too subjective of a question to get even a consensus of what you “should” do. You’re spending the money, not us, so look at your must haves and what you can live without and go from there. If you have to have leather and a moonroof the SR5 and SR5 TRDs are out, etc, etc... Keep us posted on what you decide, you cannot go wrong with any choice!

Thank you for your input. Y'all are correct. This was a subjective question, I guess I was trying to see if anyone had any particular struggle in choosing the trim and what their thought process was that led them to pick their truck. Everyone's input has been taken into account and I will be posting what my decision is hopefully before this financing opportunity expires.
