I just inherited this vehicle from a man who had cancer for the last seven years and it was kept in the garage and started a few times a year and driven a few times total on the road in the last seven years. The vehicle has 20,000 miles on it & those miles were put on between 2010 and 2014. Only maintenance done is oil changes. All stock. Tow pckg, Bilsteins, drag plates, etc.
My question is what are the most important things I should look at changing or that I need to know to properly maintain this vehicle for basically street/rural/farm use? I am keeping an eye on the serpentine belt for dry rot ... other than that it seems like it's too early to worry about much else? It's never been off road and never really left a garage. I'm glad to be able to have this resource and I welcome any info you can provide!

    Welcome from NY.

I would change all the belts and tires.

I forgot to mention I'm a disabled vet who makes $1,000 a month & that's it. It is stored in heated garage & driven less than 2,000 miles per year & I can do do some of my own work and diagnose most of it. The tires seem to have another 30,000 miles on them and are not dry rotted and the only belt I know of is the serpentine ... which looks like new but could be deceiving because it's been sitting for 7 - 10 years. Thanks!

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Welcome from SoCal. Post some pics. With that mileage and the market the way it is right now, you might consider seeing what you could get for it. It's a great truck to have, but on a limited budget, lets just say Tundies like the gasoline.

Welcome from SoCal... I wpuld side with serpentine and tires, but if I'd be honest here, my SC400 has 10 year old tires while I debate what to do with the wheels, I got mine off a friend who also garage kept.. As a fellow vet, I'd suggest you jump on youtube and take a gander at 'Combat Craig' and get a pay raise....
