Just got a 2020 Tundra Limited Trd with 40000, I am concerned about the lack of a transmission cooler! Please advise!

There is plenty of good reading on the site. Most of us are tired of beating the dead horse.

 

Here's what I do with my 21 pulling a ~6,000# travel trailer. Get either a scangauge or other phone app with dongle to monitor your transmission fluid temps. Tow in tow/haul and put the transmission in S4. The idea is to keep the torque converter locked up since a slipping TC generates heat fast. Smaller trailers or flat stretches without headwinds allows upshifts to S5 but watch for the TC to unlock and temps to rise. You get good and knowing when it unlocks and get the downshift in before it happens. I don't mind the extra work it takes when upshifting to S5 and even S6 but many might just leave it in S4 and go. To tell the truth I can't prove it gets any better MPG by going to S5 if pulling in the 60-65 MPH range.

 

This is the route many of us have went. Many satisfied customers and a pretty easy install.
