Real Toyota OEM glass, no wait time other than scheduling, which took just under 2 weeks after insurance paperwork and scheduling it.

Watched them get the sensors realigned , it was pretty neat process. IMG_2337.jpg IMG_2338.jpg

They also had to put a code reader and get into the brain while they did it. At any rate, if you need one and get mobile install, make sure the installers know how to recalibrate otherwise you will have to take it in to a shop.

Thanks for the share and advice. Which glass company was this?

Still a 1k job, the glass alone is 700 bucks. So much for the 150 dollar windshields in f150s

Genuine question, if one replaces the glass w/ OEM, the camera isn’t moved and the truck ignition remains off during the change-out, is a calibration required?

I can see if there is a change in glass position/thickness or the camera is somehow moved during the process, but if it is same glass in as glass out, why the extra $$ to calibrate?

I can’t answer that with accuracy, only what the insurance company made me sign a waiver to not go to their provider, and warn me like 3 times what I was doing, and the guys who did it said they have to check them.

Fair enough. Sounds like the relatively inexpensive front glass replacement days are behind us. I'd best check my insurance fine print to see whether I'm covered

Actually depends on the glass, if you have the etched toyota mountains on it or like my wife's explorer the sport explorer etched into the lower passengers side then you can bet your glass is 700-800 dollars. Makes no sense why some of glass is 700-800 and some is 150 bucks.

That's quite the kit to get everything aligned. I assume that is above and beyond most windshield shops scope?
